Just getting an early start to next years dee season.  I got a couple unassembled platforms from a friend.
Over the past tow days we hauled them to the locations and put the platforms together. (basically just put on the
elevators, legs and staircases).  I have the roof and walls for one of them and an enclosure for the other but that will
probably get done next spring.

South view from the stand platform.

Boar,
A friend of mine made the 2 platforms (including the trap door access) and the stair cases.  He had the levelers (brackets for the 4x4s), the 4x4 10 legs, pipe cross braces and all the hardware.  One stand has the walls and roof but not the other.  He had them in the garage at his cabin near mine.  He sold the cabin and land last winter shortly before he died.  The guy who bought the place and the land gave me the stands (actually there were three including a two man metal stand). It was pretty simple to put up being the platform and stairs were done and he had the 4x4 brackets.  I have an enclosure for one of them and will assemble the other walls and roof that he made.  I would love to ask him a few questions but we just couldn't get him to answer us.  We were thinking of him while we put them up.  Nice guy sorry to have lost him.

Just in case someone isn't familiar with "elevators" here is a picture.  Although they are a bit expensive (they run around $70-90 for a set of 4) they are worth it in time saved and stand stability.  You have to watch what you get because there are a number of cheaper knock off's around and I don't know how good they are.  The ones my friend bought had three six holes to attach them, formed edge for the 2x4 or 2x6 to sit in and compound angles.  There is also an opening at the top that a 2x4 would fit in to anchor or make a corner for the blind.

Yeah, it might be tempting to think you could save the money and still build a similar structure, but I think they offer a lot - especially to splay all four legs in different directions to increase stability.  They look good.

If all else fails...
