Well good news folks we slipped past the winter soltice which means our days of sun lite are longer, which helps our after wok BBQing in the evening.

So i'm in the market for a new grill, been eye ballin the traeger spendy as hell being single i don't need the big dog a 20" grill ican smoke wings on or bbq a chop or steak(2 tops),however after some research traegers have auger issues and it seems a bunch have had fires in the hopper box.

So I'm told camp chef is the best these days any input from folks in the know would be great.

MY QUESTION is traeger or camp chef? pellet grills,electric...

I have a Green Mountain Grill.  The Daniel Boone model.  The Jim Bowie is the extra large one.  The DB is perfect for us.  Had a few issues but their Customer Service is awesome.

My lineup for outdoors is a camp chef stove, a weber kettle, and a Weber smoky mountain smoker (which seems to have gotten crazy expensive since I bought mine).

I do see that periodically Costco has special events for Traeger pellet grills/smokers/whatever.  Not sure how much of a deal you get.  Probably throw in some stuff.

I thought I read somewhere that the traeger didn't heat up very high, I could be wrong. While at Menards they have a pit boss unit that can cook up to 500 degrees, but then again I'm a charcoal fella myself..

Ya that's the little portable one.  But there are youtubes of a guy doing a rack of ribs in that one.  I think it is the Davey Crocket.  I almost got that one.  Didn't want to kneel down to cook. Would be perfect to bring with the camper or in back of truck on outings.
