Lure experiments
Anyone ever experiment adding to/modifying ice lures with any luck? I've painted tiny vertical glo-lines on gold and silver Marmooska's and Swedish Pimples, added a few beads here and there... widened hook width openings...extended glo-paint on jigs....
Anyone have success with other mods?

I have rigged up colored golf balls with spinner blades and such..  seemed to work too!

I've inserted garlic juice in-ta a worm blower & injected it in-ta da live crawler  and it worked.  :bow:
Butt....so did da crawler wit-out da garlic juice. :bonk:

  Here's an insane Idea I tried many years back! :rotflmao:

Now before anyone beats me over da head!   In Wisconsin yer allowed 3 lines. So I got dis brain storm on how I could cover an off shore bar along da edges and also fish da deep tip at da same exact time while back-trolling. Dis way I could hammer one area but still be focused on activity at da deep tip of dat structure at da same time. :cool:

So,  I took a piece of plywood and cut out a large enough slot to mount a tip-up on it. Den I attached a separate line to da plywood wit a weight.(are you still wit me now?) :scratch:

Den,
I went ta da deep edge of da bar and lowered da tip-up inta da open water and set da depth and flag. (yes it floated perfectly) :blues brothers:
 
Den I trew out da small anchor rope wit plenty a slack dat was attached to da plywood. Da tip-up worked perfectly. Now I could focus on back-trolling all da sides and turns around da bar While still covering da deep tip. :happy1:

Note: Dis open water tip-up idea is not practical on a windy day or wit heavy boat traffic around.


Just fur da record: Da tip-up could not be considered as an unattended line because I was in da area wit-in eye shot and never left it unattended.
