driving in to work this morning i noticed schroeder lake by clearwater was ice free, locke lake by hasty still had ice floating!!!!!!!!!!

Satellite shows just about everything south of ML is 'bout gone on Tuesday except to the west. It even looks like the SE corner of ML is more gray & starting to go.

That reminds me of a story.  LOL  In the 90's a friend bought one of those camo 2 man kayaks for duck hunting.  I had a 16' John boat with a 25 Yamaha on it that was much safer but he wanted me to go with him so I did.  We went to this lake by Hugo.  Kind of a marsh.  Here it was full of these little islands.  Perfect.  We paddled out to one and threw out a dozen or so decoys and thought this is nice with all of the islands.   :crazy:  Well about 20 minutes into this it seemed like the decoys were getting closer to us.  Here all of these island were floating bogs and they were all moving slowly to the east.  So now we had to go like heck to get the decoys before the bogs got them.  What a mess that was.  After we got them all and got everything back in the truck it was kind of funny.  I didn't go out in that little kayak again though.

The lake is ice free and not a ripple on the water, what am I doing here... Last year a bog found a home at the channel between the two lakes so we had to trailer it over to the honey holes  :angry2:,  hope they escort this one elsewhere..

West Rush, Chisago county...the access is open, but we still have some ice in the North Bay.
