So that means it was a landslide against changing the name.  People want Lake Calhoun.  That's why they took it down.  The comment section in the Strib is also overwhelming to keep it Calhoun.

... whats even more disturbing is these idiot lawmakers peddling for votes trying to quickly add or attach this friggin crap to other bills. kinda like the wolf thing.

if there's one law that needs to pass is each bill gets introduced individually and it gets passed or rejected on its own merits!!!!!!! :happy1: :happy1:

That's not the way we get things done politically in passive/aggressive MN Nice fashion.

Look at how long it took our state to move to a federal compliant Real ID driver's license - one of the last two in the nation - because politicians insisted tying the issue to allowing illegals to obtain valid IDs (which would also allow them to register and vote  ;) )

Come on, LPS.  We don't know what we want or what's good for us, but the Minneapolis Parks Board does, despite the fact that a state court says they or the DNR had no legal authority to do what they did.

The petition was about a week ago. The results were about 75/25, give or take a point or two. It's not over yet, ever seen the courts not choose the 3% over the 97%? Especially when "native Americans" are involved. Our local paper this morning showed a picture of two big gut piles of walleyes left on a guys Mille Lacs shoreline. He called the DNR, who called the tribal police, and when they all got back to look at the piles there were two more piles! They determined the piles were legally left the because the land is all part of the reservation. The natives, who didn't deny doing it, said they left them there to feed the eagles and other wildlife. It was all found to be 100% legal and proper. I whole heartedly admit I get more prejudiced by the day.

Glad to hear you say that Hawg.  I have been feeling the same way.  Wondered if it was just getting old or what.  I think only Indians getting to have casinos, others actually blocking traffic on freeways etc etc has made me more racial.

Next time the CO :drillsergeant: catches me dumping my minnow bucket at the boat landing, I'll tell him I'm feeding the eagles.

We'll see how far that gets me.
