I think the DNR has a formula for this.  I can't remember where I saw it or read it, but it probably has something to do with the fact that Nov 1st is on a Friday or Saturday that the push the opener to the next weekend.

There are certainly other MNO members who know more or are better connected that can give a better answer.

In fairness to Boar,  I knew the opener was on the 9th,  but I have to tell you that I don't know how many times in my head the opener was on the first weekend in Nov.  My wife had to keep telling me no, it's next week.  hard to get used to sometimes.  good luck.

right! i can remeber a weeknd opener on like a 2nd or 2rd before. this year it really is a week later.  cause it was alway on daylight savings time and sunday of opener sucked, now we have a week to get use to it.
