What do you guys think a leapold 3 x 9 x 40 VX3 SCOPE is worth?? I googled it, doesn't come up the same but the ones that did (2) where 5 to 600 bucks.

I know where one is for $175. Just curious.

That price seems lowon a "3".  I wonder if it's one of the counterfeit ones?

It may be an older scope.  The technology that goes into new ones is so much more advanced than years gone by.

My twenty-five year old Leupold VX-II is still kicking and as long as I'm not doing any long range, bean field shooting, I'm not going to switch.

But if I was going to change, there are a lot of great new options. :hubba:

A few different ones in the VX-3 line. You don't say what model. They came out quite a few years ago. You could get a new one at Walmart for $150 then................yer gun, yer scope.

Sounds good to me.  Also, never heard of counterfeit Leapold scopes?  But who knows.  One good thing with the Leapold scopes it the life time warrantee.

I know this is an old post, but I just saw this article on American Rifleman, American Rifleman: Zeroing in on Counterfeit Scopes and Sights.

Interestingly, the article make reference to the Reb's recollection that VX-3 were discounted a while back.  Counterfeiter's choose such models to fake so that unwitting customers will think the value proposition is plausible.
