When the truck is in the shop and I want to go fishing, you improvise....
I ended up bringing home 10 Crappie and 10 Bluegills.
The phone died after the first 2 pictures, so the fish pic didn't get saved.

Well, I tried to go fishing.  On my way out, I encountered a stretch of open water where I had driven last Monday.  Also, a wheeler had fallen through at that spot.  It's a narrow spot between humps of cattails.  Some people had driven around the area but with all the water and slush on the ice and being I would have to drive through another similar area I chickened out and made my way back, loaded up and called it a day.

Interesting day of fishing....
I saw some Turkeys on the road, a Bald Eagle in a tree.... caught a small Bass and a ton of Pumpkin Seeds.... Better than being at work right?

Those pumpkin seeds are like tropical fish.  Always hold them in my hand and admire them before I throw them back.  See more and more of the turkeys around also.  Even some up north, a place I thought they would never be.  The eagle is always awesome to see.  good luck.

I went out today...and the flipp'in auger wouldn't stay running long enough to drill a farg'en hole.
It ran great on Friday when I went out, so I'm not sure what the  is wrong with it now. 

Jr. bought a new power head for my old lazer, and has had zero trouble with his. BUT, he bought a solo motor...and I got one of the last Tecumseh motors before the went out of business...

maybe I need to go electric

ok, i'll admit I know what they are. I can see having one if like boar with the boars nest for drilling holes inside a house.

how does that battery hold up in the cold....say zero degrees???? how many holes can they drill on a charge in 16-18 inches of ice.??

I still prefer to support the gas refineries!!!!!!!

Seriously, I have drilled 30-40 holes and never had a problem with the battery going down. Total amount, I don't know. My battery is three years old now so I'll see how it holds up now. Heading up next week to go over to Winnie for perch.
