As of this morning ice is officially out on Lake Minnetonka.  On average the lake opens mid to late April.  Early spring.  good luck.

when I headed to the hall, lock lake by clearwater/Hasty still had a lot of really dark ice with only the edges open. Schroder lake by st Agausta was half open with a boat up against the ice sheet.

something strange happened on the way back home though,  :doah: I tried turning into cold spring but the dang car wouldn't go that way!!!!! :pouty: :bonk: it forced me to drive around the horsehoe chain.  :sleazy: the main river is open but the main lake bodies are still covered with a sheet of crappy looking ice. wonder what it is gonna look like after this crappy weather front move through.

most of the little potholes where ice free with a few exceptions.

I like spring.  A time of great transition as things melt and water starts to flow again.  I have the boat urges now.
