I'm heading out to Peltier right now, i'll post a report and hopefully some pics later tonight.

The plan is to walk out and fish in the open without a house, hopefully a road has been plowed, but I'm not counting on it.

Just got home, we fished from 4pm until around 9pm. I marked fish constantly on the LX5, caught a ton of Crappies and a few Bluegills, but nothing over a half pound, most were 5" Crappies.

I'm not sure about the rest of the Metro Lakes, but Peltier is in rough shape allready, there was around 20 inches of snow on top of 6 inches of water and slush. We walked out from the road on the East side and only fished about 200 yards from shore in 14 fow, even that short walk was tough going.

It's supposed to warm up into the 40's this week, it should be very sloppy in the next few weeks, but i'll be back next weekend anyways. ;D

That would be Old Mill road. That lake has been pounded this year.

I'm heading back out to Peltier today, I'll be in the same spot as yesterday but a little farther to the North.

Come on out.

I fished from 3:30 pm til 6:00 pm and came home with 16 Bluegills and 10 Crappies. The Crappies were all 10" and the Bluegills were half pound and bigger, I did get 3 very nice Bluegills around 3/4 pound.

As soon as i got there they were biting well, they totally shut off at 5:30, so i packed it in a half hour later, the wind was very high, it felt like i was on a ride at Disney land in my Yukon. ;D

Has anyone been out lately? I never made it to Peltier during open water this year. I hear the new access is very nice, can anyone confirm this?

I don't think you can get to the access right now with the road construction.
