I've got a few sprigs of asparagus poking up now, but that's about it.
I may have to go check out my patch this weekend!!!!!!!! :sleazy:

Glenn, I would like to try them again.  My ground my be better for them now.  It is nice loose soil.

To plant them just make a 3/4 to 1 inch deep trench, row stick them in the trench and put dirt over the top. They will come growing together. The smaller bunches you can plant together and bigger ones you can break apart. It isn't uncommon for them once there established to grow together anyway.

The key is next year when you start to use them is to let some leftover so they reproduce the seeds. You can then let them fall or pick them and replant them.

Mine are planted in a mixture of sun and shade. They seem to like a somewhat dandy soil. I did have some in done pretty good black dirt and seemed to do good there though.

Yea I would plant them soon. Will give them a good start for next spring. In late fall I usually cover them some with leaves. Helps a bit for winter protection. But the frozen ground won't kill them.
