"The charges have more severe consequences because Salt Lake City District Attorney Sim Gill upgraded them with a "gang enhancement," which increases the penalties for "offenses committed in concert with two or more person or in relation to a criminal street gang," according to state code."

Now, I'm a law and order guy, but if you take this law at face value...  offenses committed with an accomplice could potentially be upgraded with "gang enhancement" and be punishable by life in prison.  Seems excessive.  I hope they have good judges in Utah.

Vandalism and breaking windows is a first degree or second degree felony there?   Wow.   

Forget the gang enhancement, still looking at up to 15 years..
