I predicted this. Once Trump lost the election I saw this coming a mile away. Hell, I even told my boyfriend that I'd bet $1,000 that he's impeached before the 20th. At this point he should just step down and make it easier on himself.. He already incited a riot with multiple deaths at the capitol. There's no need for him to dig any deeper, his privilege can only save him for so long. He may actually face serious legal consequences even though he's white, male, and rich.

One, I highly highly doubt they can get the 67 votes in the senate required to convict. Two, he will be a private citizen on the 20th and the constitution clearly states that congress cannot try a private citizen. Must be left to the courts to do that.

Four years ago, many conservatives - and probably a bunch of folks in the middle - thought a no-nonsenses, straight-talking, hard-nosed, Washington outsider might be the one to "drain the swamp" and put the country back on track.

Unfortunately, Trump only had 3 of those 4 attributes (way to much nonsense).  He turned out to be a narcissistic megalomaniac who didn't know how to pick his battles (and used his Twitter to fight too many of them).  Yeah, I know the lefties were out to get him from the beginning.  I do remember #notmypresident and all the other nonsense committed by the Libs.  But that isn't the point.

The point is that Trump IS NOT the man to lead the Republican party going forward.  He had his chance and he squandered it.

Everyone gets to have their opinion, and if you still support him, what he did, and how he went about doing it, then God bless you.

But if conservatives want to rise up to challenge socialism, censorship, Thought Police, and Cancel Culture, etc. that is taking root in our country, they would be well served to find a new leader.
