I used to live in Coon Rapids and moved to Big Lake because I didn't like the city's name.  Now I'm having second thought because "Big Lake" the lake the town got it's name from isn't all the big and the name should be reserved for larger lakes.

Just about every weekend in the summer we go through Big-Lake on the way home from up north and I look at the lake each time and think-How?

I used to drive thru Big lake every heading to and from work when we lived in Becker. Used to fish the lake alot in my younger days too.

occasionally i would drive past there when i went to or came home from work in ramsey. that lake gets hit hard my recreational  boats and watercraft in the summer. fair amount of fishhouses in the winter.  fished it once, little sunfish!!!!!
