Just saw that the natives want the Redskins name and logo back to what it was.  65,000 names on petition.

Since the beginning of time 2 tribes couldn't agree on anything including that the white man was bad. You likely had one tribe member start the petition and 64,999 Skins season ticket holders sign it.

There's no mention of Penix in the box score, Bobber. No need, only 17 passes for Atlanta but they ran it 34 times.

 On Tuesday when speaking with reporters, Mahomes indicated this episode was not as severe as his prior injury, saying his ankle has responded "better quicker" thus far. One important note from Mahomes was that, with this injury, one of the differences from his prior high ankle injury mechanism was he felt like he got his foot "out at the very end." In other words, his foot was not fully trapped or planted on the field surface, allowing some of the force that would have resulted in more serious injury to dissipate. He's not even listed as injured, so my money says he'll play................unless it's worst tomorrow.

Falcons bench Kirk Cousins: Can Atlanta get out of his $180M contract? Exploring options for 2025, beyond

It looks like their best option is to cut him after June 1.  It will cost them $40M spread out over multiple years, and they'll avoid the bloated $57M cap charges he's due in the final two seasons of his deal.  Certainly they're banking on Penix panning out during his rookie deal to soften the blow of buying out Kapt. Kirk.

So NOW the question remains...  if no other team wants to anoint Cousins the starter with a multi-year contract, and Darnold finds a new team, and Daniel Jones finds a new team, would Kapt. Kirk come back to the Vikings to be a backup?

He'll probably retire before signing as a backup somewhere else, I would guess. Now, if somebody would offer him a shot at the starter's job, he might give that a shot. He just moved to Atlanta, it's his kids 1st year in school down there, & his wife's parents live down there too. So I don't believe he really wants to move again just to maybe play 1 more season.

You are correct LPS. But what really seemed bizarre to me was this signing....

The Mets on Sunday agreed to sign Juan Soto to a 15-year, $765 million contract, by far the largest pact in Major League Baseball history, which was finalized on Wednesday after a physical. That's 51 million a year for 15 years. :doofus:

And if he pulls his 'hammy' or gets plantar fasciitis and is never the same player after that...  Its still $51M a year for 15 years.  :doah:

On the other hand, the way things are going...   Soto may still be a really good player 10 years from now and with inflation they'll be saying, "He's ONLY making $51M.  What a bargain."   :happy1:

Isn't that unreal?  Imagine how much money the team is making if they can pay those wages.

SO now that i realize it is only Thurs. I see it is the Broncos at Chargers tonight.  What a bore, could care less.  Then Sat there are 2 games too.  Great???  Nah.  It is only the Texans at Chiefs and then the Steelers at the Ravens.  None of them really matter to me but still may tune in to some of it.

A barely average outfielder makes 10 million. If he sells 5 million worth of merch and 3 million worth of tickets it doesn’t look as bad.

The contract will be insured against injury.

Cohen is worth north of 20 billion.

The Mets can afford him.

And that's just for 1 guy. There are 24 more on the team. That's why the teams in the big cities like New York get a truck full of money from TV.

That's why sports like baseball need a salary cap like the NFL. All teams are equal. Imagine what it would be like if there was no cap in Football. BUT.....never happen the big cities control baseball. And it's wrong. :angry2: :angry2:

I hear ya lps on AFC games, but I think most are trying to stay alive in the playoff race so should be some good matchups.

I like watching games that mean something. Don't want to see the Giants vs the Jets as an example of 1 to skip.

I will watch college games on Saturday.

North Dakota State vs South Dakota State. Numbers 2 and 3 seeds in the FCS Playoffs from Fargo. Bitter rivals. Packed house. I went to the game when they played in Fargo in October. Bison won.

Clemson and Texas

Tennessee and Ohio State

But first my family of 16 will be making cookies at Ronald McDonald House in Fargo. My Grandkids love to cook and bake. Half are Bison fans and half are Jack Rabbitt fans. Should make for an interesting living room.
