Glenn, very easy. A couple long screwdrivers, some soapy water, and a ratchet strap to help inflating the tire.

When you try and inflate it there is to much of a gap and the air just blows out. If you ratchet the tire into the rim and close the gap, you have a better chance if being able to inflate it. Sometimes you have to adjust the strap a couple times to get it to work. For a little tire like you have you only need a 1 inch wide strap. Just give a shot of air and then feel the tire. If it feels like the tire has sealed you can take the strap off and continue filling.

If it's a tubed tire, which most small cheap ones are. Just slip the tube in the side you took the old one out of. Step down the bead on the rim and fill the tube. She'll pop the bead back on!  ;)

So how's that tire coming? When you said split rim it reminded me of the David Bradley garden tractor we used to have. Dad sent me over to the Co-Op with the front wheel off of it & told me to hang around until the schlep who was working there fixed it. I was probably 6th or 7th grade at the time. We owned the rental property directly west of the Co-Op & it needed mowing. The guy wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, cussing and swearing trying to pry the old tire off the rim. I looked at it and determined it had 4 bolts that held the split rim together. When he went out to fill somebody up with gas I grabbed his 1/2" wrench & took the 4 bolts out of it. Oh god was he mad when he came back and saw what I'd done. Made him look like a fool, which was pretty easy.

i'll be taking the tire off and bringing it to northern tool today!!!!! :happy1: seems i've been buying alot of trailer type tires lately. early this spring i needed a new tire for my  boat trailer, rim was also shot, when i redid my snowmobile trailer my one tire was wearing so decided to get a new tire. havent done it yet but they told me that type of tire is 4-6 weeks out just for the tire, but i could get the rim and tire together pretty quick. makes no sense but he sad it wouldnt cost much more. :doofus: :doofus: i dont need 2 spares. now this tire.   :pouty: :pouty:

 :doah: :pouty: the more toys ya got i guess the more stuff ya gotta fix!!!!!!!!! :pouty: :surrender: :rotflmao:

talk about goofy crazy!!!!!!!! so i went to northern tool with bad tire and tube in hand. walk back there and an employee was right there asked if i needed help. said yup!!!!!! went to the rack where they were stocked and that peg is empty. i look at the price $18.00 OK, so at the end theres a bunch of tires and the rim for $7.00  :doah:    my pressure washer has a 3/4 inch bolt, these are for 5/8.

so he says buy this, take the tire and tube out, put it on your rim!!!!!!  same tire!!!!!! sometimes things just dont make sense!!!!! but saved me 11 bucks........dats almost a 12c pac of good beer!!!!!!! :happy1: :happy1: :happy1:

I think it is. The guy down at the local tire shop here in town told me the same thing  :doah: if I wanted just a tire for my snowmobile trailer but would be 6 weeks to get it, but. He could set me up with the rim and tire right away for close to the same money??! :coffee:

Brother wanted some new tread for our little flatbed trailer. Looked at L & M, they wanted a little over $100 a pc plus mounting & balancing. Looked around & found some online with rims on sale at Northern Tool for just under $100 & got 'em delivered out here for nothin.
