I like Sweden and Norway. They just stay the heck outta everything.
Why we have to defend a country that's never defended itself, and never will is beyond me. Kinda like me going over and mowing and trimming the neighbor's yard becuz they're too lazy to do it, and always will be.
Come on Reb, what do they have anyone wants? Lutefisk and Cod! 😆

And Elsa!  :wowza:

Interesting how all the Cocid experts are now experts on Afghanistan and world policy.

It's very, very apparent to me that being a "expert" requires a microphone and very little else. You are no more a expert on any of this than the rest of us. Even being new here i've read enough of your stuff to understand that. Just because you have a opinion, doesn't make that opinion correct.    :coffee:
just to be clear, i'm no expert and afgans, rona or most anything else, mostly state my thoughts and opinions.

NOW......... hunting, fishing and  :bs: i'm your expert!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :happy1: :happy1: :dancinred: :nerd: :nerd:

Gotcha!!

I've now quit reading the news, in additon to not watching it on TV. Way past the point of had enough of all political diarrhea. Guess I'll just live in a void until it blows over or we blow up. Nowhere to go anymore to get away from it.

I read the Star Tribune daily for like 20+ years. Seldom would read the world & US stuff but would read about everything else. Now, living up here where I can only get the Sunday paper I think I have read it maybe 4 times in the last year. I miss my paper.

I will watch the local TV news out of Duluth maybe once or twice a week. Their anchors don't impress me much but I have to remember they are a small market operation.

The only paper I don't get to read is the Saturday edition,  during the week the union lets me read front to back. :happy1: Although with all notifications one gets on our phones some of it is old news by the time the paper is published,  not all tho..

I like me my biting satire, but fairness in savagery...

I have to believe that the weapons were left for the Afghan forces to defend their country.  Who knew they would fold faster that Sadam Hussein's vaunted "Elite" Republican Guard.  Hmmm.  Since I put it that way...  Maybe someone should have known.

Either way, when the Afghan army decided not to fight, it was likely a US Military logistical impossibility to withdraw the remaining weapons.

The Afghan government and army shares with the Biden Administration the botched goal to protect US citizens and Afghan citizens who helped the US.

It's exactly what happen in Vietnam. We trained and left them all kind of weapons and even more to protect them selves and they just folded up. You think we would have learned from that?  :doah:

Which is the reason we have to think hard about getting involved in such conflicts next time (again).  There are no easy answers.

How so you support people who want to resist oppressive religious fundamentalist, communistic and socialist forms of government?

And if you do choose to commit troops, what is the plan to annihilate the enemy; because if you don't do it and drive them from the land, they will outlast you.

I agree with weaponery left for afgan forces, after all guess who is teaching the taliban how to fly the black hawk we left behind, pretty sure google doesn't have a tech manuel they can look up,pretty sure these afgan forces we were, have been training for years are mostly taliban in disguise, after all the reports of these ppl turning they're weapon's on our troopers over the years, can't help but call these ppl cowards,to intimidated to defend themselves and country. Such a waste.

I believe we said that after the Viet Nam war. And just about every other one.  History is bound to repeat itself, stupid or not.  :coffee:

Those people hate each other but will bow to whovever is in control so they don't get their head chopped off and displayed in the public square.  Us being there for 20 years was like a few seconds in the scheme of things.  Who thought those weapons would end up anywhere else?????  DUH!!!

Also on the news this morning the White House (or Pentagon) has said all of the equipment left there was "demilitarized". Yea, right.
