Wednesday morning I sat in a deer stand and only saw the start of a great day in the woods.  No deer showed up but that's the way it goes sometimes.  The photos show the good visibility in the woods this fall. The dry conditions caused most ferns and grasses to lay down and also the lower leaves on the brush have fallen making for great visibility. Don't ask me how three deer showed up 10 feet from my stand without me seeing them approach.  Bowhunters should take advantage of this situation.

Basswood leaves cover much of the forest floor and making for great visibility.
