I have a bow tag good for a doe or buck, early doe tag, and bonus doe tag. I don't know why because I let them go on Tuesday evening.  I did a little experiment to see what affect noise and activity would have on the deer that may be close by. Pulled the brush mower around for over an hour cutting all the grass around the cabin, food plots and apple trees. Finished the noise and activity around 4:00 PM and went in a stand about 100 yards from the cabin. At 5:30 a doe and fawn came out and fed in the turnips. Around 6:30 a doe and fawn fed far up in the field. About 6:45 a doe and fawn popped out and stood broadside about 20 yards away. I didn't want to shoot the doe with the fawn.  While watching them I heard foot steps below me.  Three does walked right under me passing within a couple feet of the ladder. I was amused and a bit surprised because I did not see them as they approached my stand. At any rate, I didn't shoot any of them either. 

It was hot but I covered my face. Maybe should cover arms and not wear a blue shirt.


Probably should have the stand closer. These deer are in the plot but 80 yards away.

Yeah, it didn't seem to matter what you did.  The deer just kept coming.

Maybe for your next experiment, try splashing on a bit of Hai Karate and see if that has any effect on 'em.

Steve-o, it's all part of my plan.  Condition the does to accept the noise and activity around camp. That way they will hang around to see what we are doing and that will attract the bucks later on.
