Nearly 100 Rattlesnakes Found Beneath California Home

"Wolf, who has been rescuing reptiles for 32 years, said itís the largest number of snakes heís ever seen in one place. He identified the Santa Rosa crawlspace as a ďden siteĒ because of the high numbers of babies and females. In the fall, rattlesnakes typically seek rocks and other warm places to hibernate in. The homeowners in Santa Rosa told Wolf they didnít remove any rocks when they built the house, which likely made it an ideal winter haven for rattlers. During the removal, Wolf flipped over more than 200 rocks."

Co-worker dog got hit by a timber rattler whilst on a walk along the river, came close to dying.

years ago hunting the bluff area in S.E. Mn near Elba we always found timber rattler snake sheds amongst the limestone ledges whist hiking the hills, luckly they (snakes)were lounging in winter slumber late november.

I often lounge in winter slumber, and can often be found between and in the cushions of a recliner.   :rotflmao:
