I've used them, not dissing the guy, but I'll take my fishtoys saw any day over them

I was curious so I googled Clancy's. The ice saw they have pictured does look like they carry fishtoys saw.

It makes seen if he carries more then one saw, both the guys I referenced earlier probably bought a cheaper saw... I Know how they operate. :pouty:

I looked at Fishtoys a few years ago but never pullled the trigger. Used to spear a long time ago, but just haven’t had the time for many years. I did think it seemed like the way to go.

yea something like that. when the ice gets that thick i always auger a few more holes.

one thing you need to be very aware of though....the thicker the ice gets, you need to watch the angle of  the saw close. you pitch that angle the wrong way the block aint coming out...........  :doah:

another trick i learned.......... you can cut/saw 3 sides, then take a chisel and chop a line on the uncut side, then with a few good pokes the block pops free. works pretty dang slick!!!!!!!!!!

So if a guy wanted to drop a decoy or two and just watch the fish, not wanting to throw a spear how big of a hole would you want?

yes but don't have a spear any where near the shack!!!  you need a spearing license     you can angle at the same time too!!!

well, its like a TV, almost, the bigger the hole the more you see!!!!!!!! you'd be surprised of the amount of fish you dont have come right up  to the decoy and sit just outside the hole and sit there and look at the decoy.

my spear shack is about 4 X 6. i have 2 holes. when the ice isnt really thick i open both. 1 hole i have a plastic decoy the other a live sucker. its really baffling at times, sometimes them pike could care less about they live decoy and come in on the artifical one. then other times they just hammer the hell outta the live one.

DECOYS.......... i have about 10 different decoys. my favorite is one i call pokey. its a red and white bear creek decoy made by bear creek. i also have one in a florecent color, my top 2. there shaped like a small pike. when you play these they swim around the holw real slow, and man some of them nords sure can zero in on them.  :rotflmao: scare the bejesus outta ya!!!!!!! and thats why my decoys are attached to an old baitcaster reel......havent lost a decoy since.  i have other decoys, one that looks like a salamander, sucker and the older home made wood ones....... the bear creek are by far the best.....IMO!!!!

These are all hand carved decoys by a Troy Feitck from up by fort Ripley. Back in the day when the spearing thread on FM was going full bore

They won't ever see lake water either. And they are working decoys

That would likely work, it's not like I have a job or anything.   ;) I'm more interested in the process than the actual spear chuckin. Lets keep in touch.
