Minnesota gun season was a total bust for us. Not a deer seen, not a shot taken.  Two of our young buck crossed the border to Cheeseland, and the Red Gods smiled as Mike and Tyler hung tags on three deer. Tyler started things off by tagging his very first deer, a spike buck on Saturday morning. These guys are buddies of my son. Tyler did a stint in the Marines, which made a man out of a boy. I'm so proud of this young man. Mike followed Tyler's lead and shot a nice 8 point Sunday morning. That's his second deer, both nice 8 points. Sunday afternoon, Tyler scored again, filling his antlerless tag. My best hunting days are behind me at this point, and i really like seeing these young guys embracing the passing of the torch. My son's finishing his advanced training in the Air Force and couldn't join us this year. Next years plans are all ready well under way. Congrats to all those who won't be eating tag soup this year!

Good for all you guys!  :happy1:

Yes, I'd rather see my daughter take a deer than get one myself.

And, back in the day, I recognized my dad was the same way, so I hunted hard to succeed for him.  I was always happy when I got one and he was even happier for me.
