Do these kits make it easier to pull?
I made a Smitty sled along time ago, and it helps... but it's just one more thing to drag along.
Looking to lighten up my flip over, and easier to drag.

If your just hand pulling a sled you may not need them. But, my Voyageur behind my sled would get beat to pieces.  I wouldn't be without them on one pulled with a sled or ATV.

What Jeff said. They just wear instead of the sled itself. now if they were made from teflon that might be a different story.

I wonder how long those sprays would stay on the bottom of the sled before they washed/wore off.  How often would you need to re-apply?  Once going out and coming back wouldn't be too much of a hardship.

But then, if you loaded your sled into the back of an SUV instead of a truck or trailer, you'd have to put cardboard down so you don't get that spray all over everything.

All easy problems to solve and cheap to try.

Early ice,8+ inches of snow, one man flip over....= a pain to pull, these one man flip overs tend to plow the snow compared to the two man flips that will float on top of said snow.

Further, these spray on lubes wear off to quick, however a good coat of alpine ski wax might last the season.just a few thoughts.

I think they work good.  A lot less material touching the ground unless it is soft snow.  Probably still helps though.  The sled would wear through without them.

 L & M in GR can't hardly keep them on the shelf from what I've seen as I've looked at 'em too. A no go for me , so far, but I don't get out that often & rarely leave the bay when I do.

Thanks for the help boys!

I had a brain fart, and went to Menards.
I found some 2 inch PVC trim boards, I cut them to length and used my heat gun.

Before I attach them.... what do you think?

Less surface area.....

You might want to set one of them there PVC boards outside over night and give it a whack in the morning.
But again, nothing may happen at slow speed hand puling?

Good point.... I'll leave one outside and try it in the morning. So far, they are pretty flexible at 23 degrees.

Mine like that I put a solid hitch with a spring on it and I pull it all winter behind my snowmobile.  I never unhook it.  If it is going to snow I just tip it over till I want to use it.  Great tool.

I tried Leech's suggestion, and smacked it on the 4 wheeler steal rack.... only dented the board.

So I'm going ahead with the install.
