Woodcock nest with eggs

Here is a woodcock nest we stumbled across last spring. The bird nearly flew into my wife's face as we looked down at a snapped off pine tree.

Very cool bird.  Seen a lot of them.  They seem to small to eat to me.

Very cool, gives me hope to see a few more. Would like to come across a grouse nest one of these days as well. Seriously, that's a pretty keen eye you have to spot those buggers.

I see a lot of the woodcock birds but never a nest.  Probably stepped on a few though.

Usually mid october whilst duck hunting near my home on low land area's at day break iffin you paying attention scanning the sky for ducks one will see these timber doodles as they migrate.

I have had a few flush right in front of me.  Never hit one yet.  LOL
