I know all countries are trying to keep this war from escalating, but it sure would be nice if Ukraine (or with the help of one of its allies  ;) ) could figure out how to strike back at the heart of Russia.

There won't be any strikes to Russia. We here in the West don't allow blowing up women & kids unless those women & kids have something we want. The only way this war stops is if the sanctions hurt or you kill enough Russian soldiers. Odds are Russia runs over them in the next 2 weeks.

A lot of people believe the best way to hurt the SOB is if everybody quit buying his oil, but that's not going to happen. :pouty:

Yeah, but if we confiscate their luxury yachts, that'll really get 'em where it hurts.    :bonk:

I just read an alarming stat~

If Putin doesn't take out the Ukraine president or he doesn't agree to putys demands we are going to have to whack the ukraine leader in order to prevent nuclear war. We're at defcon level 2, we have only been at level 2 once that was 1962 during the cuban missle crisis. Not even 9/11 raised it past level 3. Food for thought. Its getting ugly.

Not sure if this is the answer or agree but putin seems hell bent on land grabs,he/russia is doing what they do best, annihilating as they roll, indiscrimate killing and carnage of innocent lives, agreed with above statement days away from russia's complete take over of ukraine, then what country is next?,NATO is on point and gearing up for putins next move.Russia has 80% of they're military in ukraine now and ill perpared as they move forward, lack of fuel/food for troops, puts a damper on things.,news keeps showing pics of this russian 40mile truck/tank convoy,in war this sure resembles a target rich environment, yet nothing is hit, makes me wonder what's really goining on.

I question how long the world will sit idle as putin continues to kill the innocent?

That is exactly what I was thinking.  You hit the nail on the head.  How long will the rest of the world wait?

Yeah, that supply line looks like a juicy target, but who pull the trigger to attack it?

U.S. via drones and cruise missiles?  If so, does that mean that all of the U.S. is open to be attacked by Putin/Russia?

Same for NATO.  Whoever helps first becomes Putin's next target.

This is exactly what Hitler did in WWII.

Gotta take all this information with a grain of salt, both sides are rolling out propaganda, gotta admitt it's dishearting watching the russians indiscriminate shelling of ukraines neighborhoods, beautiful stone buildings, schools, hospitals etc.blood bath, now talk of russian war crimes, acts against geneva convention's ethic's in war.If the butcher of moscow get's backed into a corner he might be just be unstable enough to use nukes, then we all lose,no winners,

With the world against this invasion, even putins own country folks protesting, will putin be assassinated?we can only hope.

So recent news scroll,"russian million" aire just put a million $bounty on putins head...who knows if this is true? but encouraging.

Here we go,putin is repeating how WWII started,if only someone would've taken hitler out before he started it.

More from ukraine freedom fighters, telling of russians young soldiers disobeying moscow orders to shell villages, giving up to freedom fighters who feed them as they haven't had food in days.

Again how truthful is this? as the word spreads amongst russian troops it's a hellofa ploy to demoalize invading troops.

Russians have air superiority in the skys of Ukraine. Thats why the convoy is intact. NATO hasn't been asked to send troops and until a NATO country is attacked they won't. Putin is completely in control and will remain so. Nobody inside Russia will chance taking him out and failing.

Sad as it is, Putin will run over Ukraine and the world will watch.

I'm on the fence about russian air superiority, but all the back and forth who is doing what to whom...

ukraine claims they're ace in the sky they refer to as the "Ghost" has shot down 6 russian mig's in his mig 29...further our stingers anti aircraft missiles has been very efective on russian gunships meaning russia does not own the air space, further our military intel shows russia can't fight at night....but who knows fact from fiction during war?Video's of russian troopers giving up look athentic just to be fed by the ukrainins.

Whatever the case, the russian endless bombardment on ukrainian cities and villages,is heart breaking.Putin has really screwed the pooch on this invasion, the world is totally against him,if he suceeds what country is next? he'll bob n weave making the west think he'll keep pushing west, but then he'll bump heads with nato countries and a real shete show,so he might bite off a smaller country like slovakia or?,bottomline putin needs to be out on ice.

Further~
Is anyone else laughing at the outdated technology and ineptitude of Russia's military? I mean Putin should be embarrassed. Seriously this is the supposed super power supposed to be on our level? Watching their dilapidated tanks and APC's stalling on highways is  hilarious. Wonder how effective their nuclear weapons really are to be honest. If this was supposed to show the world how powerful they can be talk about a epic failure

I'll just say this. If the Ukraine had anything going in the air they would be tearing apart that convoy. It's barely been moving.

Interesting that you don't hardly seeing any news outlets using interpreters. Seems most everyone speaks pretty good English. Also was mentioned that the civilian causality's went from 200 something to over 6,000 overnight. They must have brought the same crew that counted in Viet Nam in to count in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy says it's a 'pity' US support came 'after' Russian war began

Zelenskyy:   "We have good contact," when asked about his communications with Biden and if the U.S. waited too long to give Ukraine support.

"I can tell you the truth. It’s a pity it began after the beginning of this war, but we have it. My appreciation to him and to his team. So we can speak now often," Zelenskyy added.

"The question is not about Biden, it's more about indecisiveness of the world," Zelenskyy added, according to a translation.

The Ukrainian leader continued, adding that the "whole world is late with Ukraine."

I just don't under stand how he didn't know that Russians wouldn't be back someday and have prepared militarily for it with some air and heavy tank weapons?

I think they did, but still... when you are attacked by an overwhelming force - and the build-up had been going on for months - it would have been nice for the rest of the world to step up sooner with preemptive material and effective sanction support.

We have to remember the "perception" of the war is more important than the "reality" of the war for everybody except Ukraine.

Russia had to be seen as the villian at all costs. It's why on the nightly news you see the horrors of what Russia is doing vs how the Ukrainians are fighting back.

What are the possible outcomes?

  • Russia wins and occupies Ukraine and we wait for his next move.
  • Russia wins, but get gets bogged down in endless resistance.  He seeks to negotiate a treaty where he gets to keep the territory and resources he wants.
  • Russia loses and is forced to retreat across their border.
It doesn't matter what happens next, this IS World War III.  Regardless of what happens to Ukraine, all of the other former Soviet Block countries are going to be looking to NATO, Europe, and the U.S. for help in defending themselves against Russia - and they should get it.  The sooner, the better.

Isn't it amazing how Strongman Dictators can consolidate power and encircle themselves with impenetrable security?  I guess that's why they are called 'Strongman.'

And I'm not at all fooled by that picture of Putin at the end of a 30 foot table by himself talking to other leaders.  People claim he is off-his-rocker paranoid and unstable.

I don't think he is.  I think this is the image he wants to portray to the rest of the world right now - that he is unstable and capable of anything.  He is still smart like a fox and has a definite end game in mind.

(But he does look the part of a James Bond movie villain - and he knows it too.  I'll bet he's got a bazooka under that table aimed at those guys right now.  ;) )

From rumor to reality....hope so anyway, the wealthy russian business folks are already feeling the pain from sanctions and are ralling against putin to end this slaughter.

Quote;

Russian billionaire and investor Alex Konanykhin, who is now based in the U.S., has called on Russian military officers to arrest Putin as a war criminal. The reward is one million dollars

I hope $1M buys more in Russia than it does here.  That isn't a lot of money to split between those Russian Military Officer lads to risk their lives and end up dead if they fail.

But it is a bold move by Konanykhin.  Putin is ex-KGB, and they have ways of punishing disloyal citizens abroad.
