Given the Twins' talent and hitting performance the past couple of seasons, I still say this of the hitting coaching staff...

Very big come from behind win in the 9th last night after the rain delay. I was shaking my head when Rocco pinch hit Santana for Miranda but I guess he knows his team. Would have been interesting to see who would have pitched the 10th as he had burned Alcala, Jax & Duran already.

As the world turns with Kiriloff...  not instead of being sent down for assignment, he is on the IL and in the manager's doghouse for concealing a back injury.

Which player was it a season or two ago who was also in the sauce for trying to play thru injury without telling the staff?

They all do. It's part of being a pro athlete.

2-2 going into the bottom of the 7th. Ryan was good again.

Lost 3-2 in 10 innings. Throwing error by Lewis allowed the winning run. But he did hit another homerun earlier.

That was the play that ended their chance.  Happens to the best of them now and then.  Too bad.

Getaway day today, so it's an early game. Woods Richardson gets the ball @ 12:10.

Woods was very good today. Jackson was horrendous again. Offense scored 4 in the 9th to tie it. Jax gave it up in the 10th. Miranda hits a 9th inning bomb. Lewis gets thrown out at 3rd in the 10th trying to tag on a ball hit to right center.

Most disappointing is the Twins hitters are doing much better, pitching has been steady all year and Chris Atterberry is getting worse by the game.

For the 2nd straight broadcast Corey Provus made the point that the Twin's staff has been giving up too many walks this month. He called their June Walk Ratio alarming & said they are 6th worst in all of MLB for the month.  :pouty:

A couple a' wins and they're still 8 games back.   :coffee:  I enjoyed he heck out of last season, but the Twins are still the Twins...  The Little Engine that Could.   :undecided:

Instead of doubling-down on last years success, they cut payroll.

Instead of finding a new broadcast deal, they took the money and left a bunch of fans hanging.   :doah:

And it seems to me - to the degree to which I am paying attention - they have more players underperforming this year than over performing.

Let's hope Lewis can ignite something that carries the team thru the rest of the season, because so far, this team doesn't seem to all have their oars in the water at the same time.

Paddack to the 15-day IL, retro to 6/22, right forearm fatigue. Ronny Henriquez recalled from St Paul(IL).

Another good start from Woods Richardson yday  & the Twin's bats continue to roll as they had 5 guys with more than 1 hit in an 8-3 win over the D'backs. :happy1: With Paddack going to the IL the Twins #1 pitching prospect, David Festa, gets the start today. It's Getaway Day too, so it's an early game .......... @ 2:40.

Thanks, Gunn, for the updates.  I appreciate your analysis.  Still 8 games back.   :pouty:  But its only been two days since my last lament.  Lets hope the offense starts rolling.  These slow offensive starts to the season are beginning to form a trend.

15 teams in the American League. Twins have as many wins as all but four of them. They currently qualify for the play-offs, which is the goal. They are half way through the season. A similar record in the NFL would be 5-3.

No team in MLB history has gone undefeated. You may need to lower your expectations.

 Too bad you don't get BSNOR anymore, Steve-o, because Corey Provus has been saying everyday how the Twins have been 1 of the best hitting teams in all of MLB for the entire month of June. According to ESPN they're currently top 10 in just about every offensive category except strikeouts where they are tied for 20th with 650 & Seattle leads there with 838. They're currently hitting .249 as a team & that puts them 10th, OBP/.320/9th, SLG/.424/4th, OPS/.744/5th, HR/96/6th, 3B/15/tied for 6th, 2B/ 161/1st, Hits/682/ 8th, & Runs/392/6th. https://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team If someone would like to see for themselves, just click on the category at the top of the columns to see where they currently stand.

Ober gets the ball in Seattle & it's an 8:40 game again. Correa is saying he expects to be in the lineup.

I ain't goona do that.  I get it that its a marathon and not a sprint, and 'if they don't win its a shame' and all that, but...  I'm weary of the Twins constantly expecting us to lower our expectations because they are a small market team.  It will be interesting (and fun!) to see what they do at the trade deadline.  Do they go all in, tweak, or stand pat?

I stand corrected and appreciate your comments.  I am super excited to keep following Lewis and it is still on my bucket list to go to a game and watch Correa play short in person.  (Last year I tried and he was given the day off.)
