A random thought just popped into my head. Why haven't the Dodgers tried to extort a new stadium out of the taxpayers. That stadium was built in the 50's when they moved from New York.

Very good game last night. Always good to see the Yankees lose. Now the loud mouth, holier than thou fans can really scream for Boones head on a platter. There is certainly a lot of star power players on display, Ohtani, Betts, Judge, Soto, Stanton, Freeman.

I went to a Dodgers game back in the 70's.  The freeway was almost at a dead stop and still couldn't see the stadium.  We follow the cars into a parking area and walk through some gates and there is the stadium below us.  Pretty cool ball park. They were proud to only charge $2 per ticket.

Yamamoto only gives up 1 hit & the NYY lose 4-2. Teams with a 2-0 lead have won the WS 80% of the time.

I just read on The Athletic that Ohtani will play game 3 after getting hurt sliding into second base in the 8th inning last night.

If the Yankees can get into this thing they will have Cole available to pitch, LA has nobody that can match him when he's on.

 Cole was really good on his 1st start too, but their bullpen wasn't. Judge better start hitting.......& soon.....................or it may be a short series.

If they can get Cole to a meaningful game I think Boone rides him like Secretariat. The question is can they get to that game.

Hindsight is 20/20.  I heard talking heads on the radio this morning hypothesizing that Cashman made the call when to pull Cole and Boone is just managing the game the way Cashman wants him to.  Who knows.  I have no opinion.

I can't imagine how hard it must be for Derek Jeter to share a microphone with that lying cheating pig A-Fraud.

 Will this be the 5th time that NYY get swept in the WS? The last time that happened was 1976 by Bench & Roses' Big Red Machine.

I'm sure Derek has figured out how to deal with ARod - sharing the left side of the infield with him for so many years.

Its too bad that big broadcast TV insists on hiring the game's biggest retired stars instead of searching out the guys who make the best broadcasters and tell the best stories.  Where are all the guys like Jim Kaat?  Why won't the networks hire them?  (Actually, we all know why.  Because sheeple want STARS.)  So, we get stuck with Jeter, ARod, and Big Papi - and on the football side - Tom Brady.

There's still more baseball to be played  as the bottom of the order for NYY & Torres do most of the damage in a 11-4 win. I hope the 2 guys that interfered with Bett's catch can't get in the stadium tonight either.  :mad1: I don't think they got to see the end of the 2nd inning last night before they had security showing them the door. Hope they got their money's worth as the cheapest ticket that I could find for tonight's game is $460.

That was potentially a very bad deal. They had Betts glove arm pinned to the top of the wall while they pried the ball from his glove. Bett's feet were off the ground and all his weight was hanging there as they pulled the ball out.

I can see the day when all stadiums have fencing of some sort to keep players and fans separated. Football players leaping into the stands has potential for very bad things to happen. People sitting courtside 6' away from the court in basketball. Hockey players might be the safest of all.

Very sad indictment of the human race when things like this happen. Although I'm sure there was very little thought that went into this, they saw the ball and went for it. But that doesn't excuse the action.

Betts is normally pretty low key, but he was smokin after that & I don't blame him 1 bit.  training-087 I agree db, that could've been much worse, very easily.   :pouty:

Yeah, humans in general do some pretty despicable things, but I think this is more of an indictment of Yankees fans.  That stupid grin on his face when he was doing it...  I guess they're not goona bar him from the game tonight.  :embarrassed:

Read this morning that these two smart guys are season ticket holders and have bragged about doing this very thing if given the opportunity. They will back again tonight so I’m sure Fox will show their smiling faces along with a replay from last night. Just glad Betts didn’t get hurt.

Yet Another Man Mugged While Visiting New York

NEW YORK — The crime wave continued in New York as cameras caught yet another man being mugged, this time right on the right field line in Yankees stadium.

According to eyewitnesses, a man by the name of "Mookie" had his belongings ripped right out of his hands by two men, who were reportedly both wearing Yankees gear.

Despite the whole ordeal being seen on video, New York officials have reiterated to citizens that crime in New York is, in fact, down. "I want to assure everyone that Yankee Stadium is the safest in America," said Mayor Eric Adams in a press conference. "No one is mugging anyone, certainly not athletes, and certainly not right-fielders."

After his statement, concerned reporters showed Mayor Adams video of the episode. "That one doesn't count," explained Adams. "Mookie is not a New Yorker so he doesn't count. And nothing was stolen either, the ball bounced away. No harm, no foul. That's just how crime works."

At publishing time, Satan had seen the video and reportedly switched his allegiance from the Dodgers back to the Yankees.

 It sounds like the league might've stepped in & said  :tut: Capobianco and John Peter were both escorted from their seats after blatantly interfering with Betts on a first inning fly ball. On Tuesday, Capobianco claimed they had been told they would be welcomed back for Game 5. That might not have gone over well with the league, especially when he essentially admitted that their actions were all part of a plan

I just read that they are season ticket holders.  They will be refunded for their ticket price for not getting to see game 5.

Yeah, I read that too. The 1 who pulled the ball out of Betts' glove is from NJ, they said this AM.

The guy who pried the ball out was at Tuesday's game with his brother & a few other family members. The team revoked all of their tickets & told them that if they tried to get in with different tickets they would be arrested at the gate. Well, the guy that grabbed Betts' glove didn't think it was fair that his other family members were banned too & complained about it publicly. :violin: :violin:    I've got to give the NYY credit though as they put those seats to good use. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10141594-pediatric-cancer-patient-receives-banned-yankees-fans-mlb-world-series-g5-tickets
