Correa made a real nice play on a line drive behind him to bail him out.
They're only 1 GB. :cheerleader:
Correa and Buxton are great players and fun to watch.  I hope they stay healthy.  I hope Buxton will hit this year.
Only 1 game back after 4 straight losses.     Only in the AL Central.   ;) :bonk:

Just like that..............they're tied for 1st place in the division :happy1:...................but so is everyone else!! ;) Correa gets off the snide with 2 hits & the first 1 probably wasn't over 60 mph off the bat. They got 2 hits from Buxton & France too & 5 of their 6 runs came with 2 out. :happy1:

Just like that they dump the opener to Houston 5-2. Last place again.   :rotflmao:

Ryan threw 83 pitches & only 49 were strikes, that's < 60%, tough to win like that. No idea what happened on the balk, but the 1st HR was on a hanger. They showed his stats & Ryan didn't pitch very good at home last year either. It's a long season, no game today though. Ober goes on Saturday; 1st pitch scheduled for 1:10.

Ober could only get through 4 but he only gave up 1 run. Miranda had the big hit, a 3-run HR in the 6-run 4th, for their 1st win at Target Field this season. Same time today & Paddack gets the ball.

The run Ober gave up was on like the first pitch to Altuve who had struck out 5 times the game before. Such is baseball. Fail one day but the next game is a chance for redemption.
I'm not a Miranda guy. I thought he was over-hyped when he first came up. If he wants to play he better do something because if & when Lewis gets back he will be at third.
I'm hoping Paddack has a good game. I like the guy but think he will be the sacrifical lamb for Falvey to get one of "his guys" out of Triple A and into the rotation.

Watched the game. The 3 run homer by Miranda could just as well not happened. 2 out and 2 strikes and he half swung at a high fast ball. First base ump said no swing. Should have gone the other way and no homer and side out. I watched it a couple times, and I would have said strike 3.

No 6 run fourth.

Well.....this is the worst start for them since 2016 when they finished 59-103. They keep this up and they might not finish above the White Sox. Plus Rocco Baldelli's job may be in trouble. Pohlad's should sell the team. No one will go to  see a team with this kind of record.

Maybe a funk, I don't know. The way the strib went on this spring we were looking at the best pitching staff in the bigs,  top it off with a new hitting coach. And this guy even predicted us winning the division,  gots along ways to go it looks..

As they say, you can't win a division title in April, but you can lose one. Detroit is off to a roaring start and with the Twins upcoming schedule this thing could be over by the fishing opener.

Twins dump one to KC 2-1 as Pablo Lopez leaves with injury. Got some pitching tonight but they can't hit again.

That sounds pretty much like the recap of last season.   :pouty:
Oh, wait...  They're pretty much rolling back the same team as last season.

The 4 errors were no help either. Our leadoff man had 4 K's & missed a couple pitches by at least a foot. Almost reminded me of Sano, he looked so bad. :pouty: As Buxton goes............so go the Twins. The write up of the game said it was right hamstring tightness for Lopez. Have to see what they have to say tonight.

On a grounder by Witt Jax over threw 1st base by 10’ that allowed Witt to go to third. They scored the winning run from there. Sands was terrible also.

The Twins have been dead to many of us for a few years now. Doesn't sound like I'm missing much. SSDY...:coffee:

If you're not a baseball fan you are missing nothing. Might I suggest Soccer or Major League Pickelball?

France goes 3-4 with a homer in the 4-0 Twins win. Wallner also homers, Ryan wins.

In his post-game interview, Ryan mentioned a couple of times how much nicer it is to pitch when it's 70, rather than when it's in the 30's. Still, can work on their baserunning a little but otherwise it was 1 of their better efforts this season IMO. Bader looked good in CF & maybe a day off is just what Buxton needed. Ober goes today @ 1:10.

It's the greed of the owners and players that has them playing in the snow. In order to pay for the insane salaries and to give owners more profit they keep adding play-off games. More rounds, longer series. The refusal to play more double headers also results in stretching the season out. As players and particularly pitchers continue to fall I can see teams wanting to do away with the present system of how many times a player can be moved up and down from the minors. I can see the day coming when a team burns up the bullpen and the next day there are 4-5 new pitchers in town. I know I never want them to go back to 154 game schedule which has been  talked about. Perhaps Manfred puts both expansion teams deep into the south / west so the northern teams can play in warm weather for the first couple of weeks?     I dunno.

If I had the choice of going to Target field or Target center , I'd watch baseball before watching that dreaded knuckle drag. I haven't tuned into a game yet, but something about a Sunday afternoon game outside is what it's all about.

I'll chalk another loss up to the pencil pushers. Festa struggles in the 4th, has thrown 64 pitches, has 2 outs but also has a confidence building 4-1 lead at home. One more out and he gets a W for his baseball card. One more out, just one. Rocco pulls him. Insert Alcala & Topa and by the 6th the Twins trail 5-4 only to end up losing 7-6.
Is it any wonder Sonny Gray wanted out of here? Baseball is built on numbers. Those numbers are wins & loses, batting averages, stolen bases, all the numbers you would proudly show your grandkids after retiring from the game. Instead we are stuck with this slop that clearly doesn't work.

On a bright note.......nearly nobody showed up at Target Field to watch.
