I try to keep a 1.75 of Saphire around for special occasions or a changeup from my Beam or Windsor. I'll even sub in a 1.75 of Tanqueray every now & then too. The Super One Liquor in GR will have 1 of 'em on sale every month or 2.

Gin is for pussies who can't drink bourbon.
Barry made me say that.

After scraping spoiled liquid corn goo off bin sidewalls, the bottoms of bins, & out of leg pits, I've developed an aversion to consuming the dark colored liquids extracted from it. Barry would make a good test subject so we'll get him a bottle of Plymouth Navy Strength gin. Fun to see what he thinks after a few rounds of G&T's from that bad boy. Or better yet, a martini or two. At 114 proof, it should get the job done as well as the G&T protecting him from malaria, especially if we use the Extra Bitter Jack Rudy's tonic syrup. Even higher octane quinine than their regular stuff. Add a lime slice to protect him from scurvy & gin suddenly becomes a health drink.  :happy1:

 I've never tried the Jack Rudy tonic syrup, but I do know the neighbor brings some of Jack Rudy's Bourbon Cocktail Cherries from the metro up with him for his Manhattans sometimes. A bit spendy............but really good too............he says.

They have all kinds of bar supply stuff. I order a case of the classic tonic syrup a year. Can get it in Faribault but nice to always have it on hand. I give a few as gifts too. It's cheaper by the case with free shipping. The wife uses the empty boxes to carry wedding vases to decorate tables so I need to keep her supplied... :happy1:

My brother said that elderflower tonic was pretty good stuff. I may have to order some just to see.

Using DG's club soda & the tonic syrup at 1/2 oz. inclusion rate, it comes to ~$.54 per drink for the mix. One has to keep in mind that while the store bought tonic water will cost about a dime less per drink, it's also loaded with major carbs. The Jack Rudy's small batch tonic will be about 5 gms. of carbs vs. 20 gms.+, it tastes better, there's more quinine in it, & it's not so sweet. Like I said, it's a health drink!  :rotflmao:
