Do you ever have to ask yourself, how could a person be so selfish, inconsiderate and just plain a jerk ?

Let me tell ya a little bit about a person who hung around our cabin as we grew up as kids.

This guy and I use to ride mini bikes, fish, his family came to BBQ's at our cabin.

I even was so kind as to call them when their cabin had been broke into. I was putting my boat in at the landing and noticed the door of their cabin was standing open, with no car or truck around. I went to investagate and notice the door jam busted. I called them and they asked me if I could do anything to close it up until they could get there. I did!

when they came up, they had nothing to cook on or eat on as all their pots, pans and dishes were all stolen. We brought them everything needed to get them through the weekend.

This was some time ago, since then the kid I grew up with was given the cabin by his parents.

A year or so ago, my 75 year old dad asked this kid, now a man, if he could fish sunfish from his dock. The kid(man now) told my dad, NO. He doesn't want anybody on his property because he could sue him.....infact he has put NO TRESPASSING sign's up on his cabin lot now.

You have to ask yourself, what kind of person would tell a 75 year old man he can't enjoy a few last times of catching a few Sunny's for a meal.

He also closed off his own driveway, because he drilled a well in the middle of it and now uses the PUBLIC LANDING road as his personal driveway.

Now, this weekend..fishaholick was up fishing for the weekend. He and my son's went on Sat. They didn't catch anything. I had to work.

On Sunday we loaded up the fishing gear in Fish's truck and me and the boys decided to take the sleds over to the lake and fish drove over.

Fish was just ahead of us a hundred yards or so and I thought to myself...What The Heck???

I could see his truck bouncing and rocking and soon he was getting out and getting the minnows out of the back and walking back around the truck. I could not believe what I was seeing. This troublesome cabin owners(him and his kids) I grew up with, had taken their 4 wheeler and litterly whipped foot deep cookies in the wet snow on the lake..for the entire width of the lake and for 150yards or more the length. We are talking whipping donuts for the entire DAY!! It looked like their had been 50 ATVs on the lake for the amount of frozen ruts. You couldn't drive our sleds more then 2mph to get across that end of the lake(about a 200 acer lake). I pulled up to fish and said to him..what could this dumb ars have been thinking.

Like nobody else uses the lake!!!! JUST HIM AND HIS KID

Fish and the boys said, they couldn't even fish our good spot because they were raising so much he11 taring up the lake. They had to move to the south end on Sat.

He even had to do a drive by with his snowmobile only Minute's after we arrived on the south end, followed by his wife about 5 minuets later..turkey necking, checking us out..like what are you doing on  our lake.

I'm telling ya, I live here year around. My family has been here since the 30s..my great grandfather lived and raised his family here. This weekender is pushing his luck..not only with me and my family but with everybody who uses the lake or the public landing next to his cabin.

What drives a person such as him?

What can he be teaching his kids?

With people like this I believe they are filled with hate, anger, depression etc. If you are willing to put in the time,I say kill him with kindness and slowly let them know about your family's background in the area.

It may take a long time but gilt will slowly eat at them and they will change (hopefully)

Or just fight with them the rest of your life

                  Good luck

bh-73, What most of us have done, is have no contact with them. He's the kind who is looking for any threat or act of harm looking for a law suit..most normal people will aviod that at all cost's. I have no interest in getting in trouble over this.

It still really chaps a person's hide..they can act like this towards nieghboors and strangers alike

as they say... What comes around, goes around! Just ingnore the B*st*ard, he will get his, sooner or later.  Maybe with all their atv stunts he may go trough the ice and drown. ...... And the you could fish his sorry A$$  as structure! :)  Then a snag could actually be a good thing!

All kiddin aside, he will reap what he sows, maybe not today but someday...................I guess we need a few jerks to make the rest of us seem nicer?
That's gonna leave a mark!

I say you put up a nice log fence... then paint his side bright pink! Also some house lights pointed toward his windows would be fun! Another option is to befriend his wife... If it is his ex-wife EVEN BETTER! Have her over for drinks either way. ;)

Maybe we should have an MNO get-together on this great lake and we'll set up camp about 50 yds off shore in front of his house ;D

Yeah, the guy was a real peice of work, had the lake all torn up. Even stood their and looked at me as if I was driving over his moms grave when I drove out to get onto the lake.

Funny thing is,  I hear that the county may have something to say about his using the ramp as his personal driveway. Hmmmm. funny how little birds chirp.

I like Mayfly's idea, so I went with it and here's what I came up with for starters:

1st we all show up in the MNO car

Then as we exit the MNO car, we let the neighbors know we mean business!

So much so, that we all begin to chant-

Then we party our butts off!

Or there is option #2.  Call the Dept. of Homeland Security.  Report strange Arabic sounding chant sounds coming from the neighbors house, within a short amount of time he might see the following coming towards him.

Camo togas all around.

Bufflehead I feel bad for you. Unfortunately as you know it's not an easy fix. I've had a bad neighbor before and it colors everything. But I also think these guys get theirs in the end.

Good luck.

That's a tough situation Bufflehead, and I'm sorry that you and your friends/family are having to deal with this jerk. Unfortunately, anything you do will be viewed as retaliation and it sounds like this idiot is the kind that will take that and run with it...against you.

I would have to say that, as hard as it is going to be, just stay clear of the lunatic and like everyone else has said....He will get his in the end, one way or another. More than likely through God's trap door as fishercz20 said.

Keep your head up buddy, and don't get sucked into his crappy games, that is exactly what he would love to happen so he can come after you.

If all else fails, I say we go with Brutha Woody's ideas! LOL

Could do like I did 18 years ago to a client that was 3 months late on their snowplow bill and was a deadbeat.  The next big snow I plowed the snow from the street and deposited it in the driveway, like 5' high and 10' deep.  ;D  Or you could throw a 1lb of 3/4" roofing nails on their new "access".

Fear

I had posted the land where my hunting cabin was.  It was a legal way so additional charges could be pressed if they were caught vandalizing the place.  But I let friends use it free of charge and encouraged them to use it, all I asked was let me know a head of time so 2 partys of people did not show up at same time.  And if they could lend a helping hand once in a while when repairs were needed.  Kind of funny how scarce they get when I needed a 3/4 day of help on something.  Oh well I did my part of the deal.  But it was one of the reasons that I sold it too, it was getting run down and nobody wanted to help occasionally (1/2 day a year) to keep it up.  I'd do 2-3 days of upkeep each year it seemed and other used it more than I did.  So I now I go hunting in CA for a week instead, it costs the same, and no 3 days of work involved so I can do other contructive things. ;D

God, help me be the man that my dog thinks I am.

Thanks guys, we are working through legal channel's to get this guy under control.

He will find out sooner or later, it would have been much easier to get along with others and respect others use of a public lake.

He's made his bed, now he will have to lay in it

Life is too short to be waisting it on people like this. i hope it works out for you. sounds like this guy for got where he came from or how he was brought up. The one thing i never forget is how i was brought up. My father told me never to stoop down to another's level. Just stay true to who you are  and the rest will be worked out. Good luck  i hope all is worked out .
