 Often it doesn't even have to taste that good a lot of the time & they still think it's great........................because it's the thought that counts. Those small-town bakeries do make good stuff, only thing close to that down home is Hy-Vee's bakery. :pouty:

Gunner55 nailed it on the SS question.  They use your "best" 35 years. These are not necessarily your "highest" income years, but rather the years your income was the highest percentage of the MAX SS for that year. When I first started working it was around $15,000. Now it's well over $100,000.

Is that gross income or adjusted gross income?

"Earned Income", you only pay SS Tax on Earned income.

Thanks. The only income used in calculating benefits is the income you pay SS tax on.
Makes sense.

 That's probably what's best for her but a little tough for you. How often does she feel she needs to call everyday, so she knows you're not getting into too much trouble? ;)

while up hunting i talk to the wife now and then. she told me she's having a tough go of it and was given a prescription for depression because of all the things she is going through. that in itself got me thinking!!!!!!

on my way home yesterday i stopped in.  talked to her a bit. when  i left i called her granddaughter and had a conversation i most certainly didnt like!! she told me the wife refused physical therapy coming out. she was fine doing what she needed to do at first on her own but then quit. but now she quit doing that. she said its like she's lazy and dont give a crap. i'm going to be having a LONG TALK with her and she aint gonna like it.

anyway she went down to see the infectious disease specialists yesterday. the Meds she's been talking for the infection isnt working. there saying her body is absorbing it to fast........so its off to a new med. we need to go down soon for the first dose as this new med can have reactions so they need to watch that.

Not surprised some depression is part of the program.  It is a tough deal she is going through and even though she may be fine at the daughters it is not like home.  The depression meds should help to get her back to where she should be.  Hang in there Glenn and Sue.

Try to stay positive and encouraging.  And I gotta believe PT really sucks "at our age" and especially for women.   I can't imaging having to go thru what she is dealing with.

Hope she keeps at it, Glenn. PT is painful, but it’s necessary to get things back to normal. I’m on the tail end of some myself, and some days I just don’t feel like doing it, but my wife encourages me and that really does help. It’s the only way to get things right again. Good luck  and know that there’s a lot of support for you and Sue.
