They announced McCaffery's replacement in Iowa City yday too. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/iowa/basketball-men/2025/03/24/iowa-basketball-coach-ben-mccollum-hire-hawkeyes-drake/82551881007/ Only 1 season at Drake but...........................McCollum's run at Drake was stellar, but it pales in comparison to his many years as head coach at Northwest Missouri State. He went 395-91 in 15 seasons there with four national titles. A homecoming for McCollom too, as he was born in Iowa City. :happy1:

I remember seeing an interview with him by someone where they talked about his past there. Was pretty interesting. He was a really good player there sounded like. Will miss him in the B1G. Hasn't been anyone who shows the kind of fire he did on the sideline since Bobby Knight. Izzo can bawl and whine like a baby but doesn't hold a candle to Frannie's red meter days.

:happy1: McCaffery played three seasons with the Quakers and led the Ivy League in assists (105) and steals (51) as a senior in 1981-82. Penn went 36-6 in Ivy League play across McCaffery's three seasons, winning three conference titles. He played in two NCAA tournaments.
