At Cabela's, (maybe). Have to wait for the phone call. It's a afterhours maintenence position. Should work out great to escape the high cost of daycare around these parts. Heck, I shoulda opened a daycare and made BIG money.

Congrats, I hope it works out for you. I am about to enter the days of spending money on daycare and not looking forward to it (first child due May 22nd). Fortunately my wife is a teacher so I get 3 months of free day care atleast.

We did!  It's a get rich really freaking slow plan.  More money moves through it a month than moves through my house a year, unfortunately, none of the money stays put.

The place we go they have at least 6 full time kids at $155.00 a week = $930.00 + 4 part-time kids + They get food money from the gov. etc etc....

Thats over $60,000 a year and if you have a good tax person your keeping most if that ;)

MAYBE if they work out of their house, but I believe eelpout and his wife opened up a center.

They get partial compensation for food, they carry more house and auto insurance a month than you pay a year, (even if they aren't driving the kids, they still have to have it) they aren't getting playground equipment, art supplies, replacement toys, and all of that crap free.
My wife has a center licensed for 90 kids.  In a given month, she pays $16000 in payroll, $8000 in payroll taxes, $6000 for mortgage, well over $3000 in utilities, $800 in art supplies, $4000 for the loans we need for the kitchen, playground, cubbies, .....and other start up supplies, (not to worry, that will all be paid off in 8 more years) $300 for a manditory monthly inspection that every childcare with infants is required to have, $1600 in food (gets $800 back because she has kids on county assistance, but they don't pay full price), $600 for association, $400 payment on the daycare van, $400 on insurance for that van, $400 liability insurance, $300 property insurance.  Thats $41,000 month.  At $145 a kid, (which is what it averages out to) she needs at least 66 kids there a day, just to keep the doors open.  For every 6 additional kids, add another $1000 for payroll, $500 for taxes, and $200 for food.  Not to mention, you spend 8 hours a day surrounded by 60+ children.  If it were so easy to make millions, I think everyone would be doing it.

My advice to anyone who thinks the price of day is too high, see how much cheaper it is to quit your job and stay at home with them

That's great news Big Slick. I hope things work out for you. I'm assuming it's at the new Cabela's up near Rogers and not the one down here in Owatonna by me?...

Haven't heard anything yet but it take a week to 10 days to get the background check done.

UPS sounds good if I knew where to go to apply I just might.

Big Slick,

You can apply online with UPS. Go to: www.upsmanagehr.com
Once there, you can Search Jobs by state and or zip code and see if they are taking applications online for any positions. Good luck.
