A buddy from Ottertail just texted me that he got 5.5 inches last night.  That is sandy soil there so will suck it right up.

Looks like a big front is circling around the state and is getting close to us.  May be an all dayer.

The .98" at the ranch & .65" in Bugtussle were welcome. Another little blob ~11 this a.m. added .03" at the ranch. Should help make fall tillage a little easier.

finally checked the rain gauge a bit ago, over 2 1/2 inches of rain...  didn't think we got much because there was no standing water....

Supposed to be more rain coming here this afternoon then diddling around thru tomorrow. Nothing substantial, tenth or so perhaps.

Just dumped the rain gauge. Three inches since Thursday. Hated to lose a lot of outdoor time, but we sure needed it. Read a report that said El Niño influence might make for a drier than normal and warmer than normal winter in these parts. Hope they’re right on that.

Kinda murky & misty so far today. Collected another .63" at the ranch yesterday afternoon & .13" in Bugtussle. Could see the 1st batch hit the ranch around 2 p.m. as I swung thru Owatonna. Knew somebody was getting it off that direction but wasn't sure just who. Was ~ a tenth in the gauge when I unhooked from the trailer. Then about 3 it rained hard again for a spell, pushing the total to ~.25". Between 4 & 4:30 it  poured again, knocking the dish out for a while. Have had 1.86" so far since the rain started Friday at the ranch with .98" in Bugtussle during that same timeframe.
