So Sunday we switch TO Daylight Savings time.  So we have been on Standard Time.  I am not sure which one I like the best but would like it to be constant all year round.  Daylight Savings means more hours of light later in the day.  Standard time means more light in the mornings so it is easier to wake up.  I haven't put a lot of thought into the details but am kind of on the fence as to which way to go.  I suppose Standard time is what it will be if one of them are made permanent.  So what we have right now.  Any comments or ideas?

I say split the difference. Move a half hour forward and then leave it there. Otherwise just pic one or the other and leave it.

I can't figure out why so many people have problems with the shift.     I always thought it was a great idea.   :happy1:  I like it when it stays light past 8:30 in the summer and I don't care when the sun rises.

Social media has empowered more people to speak up and let their opinions be seen by more people.  And because squeaky wheels get grease, this issue continues to get traction.   :oscar:

I also like that more evening hours of daylight are better for evening hunting and fishing  :fishing:, more daylight after getting off work.

i could really care less one way or the other personally.

i truly dont believe they's split the difference, as i dont think it make much sense. if they'd do that the rest of  the world would be on the hour and we are on the half hour????? that even be more confusing. just my opinion though!!!!

As someone who works in a building all day…I’d love them to keep it on daylight savings time. I’d MUCH rather have “some” sunlight to enjoy in the winter!

Personally I'd rather  have it stay the way it is now, changing with the longer days. If it had to stay with one or the other I'd prefer standard time year around. I dont like the idea of it being dark until 9 in the morning nor do I like the idea of all those school kids waiting in the dark for the bus that many more days.

My only beef would be the fall,  keep it as it it is now or it would be pretty dark on cloudy days for chasing roosters at 9 o'clock go time. Then again I'm sure our dnr would have a change in time. And also you deer hunters would start later..

Like I said, I like the way it is, but if it had to go one way or the other for the whole year, keep Daylight Savings Time to maximize daylight in the evening.

I think we should set the clocks back an hour every few months so I can get more sleep!  :happy1:

Seriously, the time change sucks if you have livestock and I mean real livestock where it's start to finish from the birthing process to mature animals, not the automatic feeder, contract fed confinement stuff. Especially sucks if you have an off farm job or business to get to. Not to mention scads of studies showing that changing the clocks ahead in particular is not a good idea from a health perspective, from heart attacks, car accidents, falling off chairs while changing clocks, etc.

Personally I'd rather see the clocks left on standard time. Regardless of which time is finally decided upon, I see no reason that businesses couldn't regulate their hours to accommodate their employees desire for more hours of daylight in the summer if standard time is chosen and winter hours can be decided upon for schools and businesses if daylight saving time is chosen. We have enough means of communication that people should be able to figure this out without the government sticking their nose into it.

What did happen to the bill that was getting worked on last summer or spring. Was that at the state or federal level. I thought it was making good traction to get thru then all the sudden I stopped hearing about it. I would prefer to have some more daylight after work. But, all I really care is that one gets picked and just leave it. The back and forth is just plain stupid.

I've decided. Worth it to me not to have to keep going back and forth.
