Gophers tie it up 3-3 on the PP just before the end of the 2nd period. Gophers have been outshot 28-14 thus far. Only caught the last part of the 2nd. At least it looked like they have a pulse tonite.

Heading to OT. Most of 3rd period spent in the Gopher's end. Gophers may as well kiss this one good bye.

A-yup. Gophers keep their streak intact. They have NEVER won a shootout in the B1G!

That's interesting. Box score looks like it was a good game. I may have to go back and look at the PP, PK and SOG numbers.
My Mavs won at Ferris State 7-2.

Doesn't surprise me Dotch with Motzko running the show.

Mavs have a home and home series with St. Thomas this weekend.
Is anyone watching the Gophers and Badgers?

Yes unfortunately. Playing like crap. Took more than 8 minutes for them to get a shot on goal. Most of the action in the Gophers end, again. Down 2-0 already in 1st period & lucky it isn't worse. Picking up at Mariucci where they left off on the road last weekend. They chit the bed again & the fire Motzco bandwagon will gain steam. 14 g.d. NHL draft picks on this team. Not impressed.

I just looked at the remaining schedule for the regular season. I think after tonight, the Mavs only have 7 games left.

Gophers tie it up 2-2 in the 2nd. Better forechecking & more aggressive overall. Refs stink once again. Fortunately they've been equal opportunity stinking. Where do they find these clowns? 🤡 🤡 🤡

It's hockey night, folks. My Mavs are hosting Augustana for a couple.

Are the Gophers playing this weekend? I didn't see them on the schedule.

No, the rodents have a week off. They play next week at Michigan. Friday nite game is at 6 p.m. CST on B1G+ (PPV). Saturday night game starts at 5 p.m. & is on BTN. Am sure they probably have wrassling or other boring crap on Friday. They claim they have a larger wrassling audience than they do for hockey. Find that very hard to believe (fake news) especially if the hockey teams are decent. Then why don't they broadcast it on one of their numerous alternate channels that are sitting idle? I'm not going to go thru the headaches of trying to livestream it out here in the land of rocks and cows with our less than spectacular internet, let alone pay for it. 🤔

Mavs won 4-1. One empty net. Good to see Mavs got a 5 on 3 penalty kill.
I see Michigan beat Michigan State.

Dunno. Couldn't watch it. Lost in OT is all I know. Michigan beat Michigan St. last week as you duly noted. Anyone can beat anybody as of late.

Gophers keep their record intact. Lose another shootout after OT ended in a tie. This team is limping into post-season. Frustrating. Has to be a better coach out there somewhere... :coffee:

Yep. I saw that. It does make you wonder.
How long has the Gophers head coach been there?

Does Don Lucia have a son who is coaching somewhere in college hockey? I thought I read something about that a while back. I could be thinking of someone else, though.

While the Gophers are still good year in and year out I think the talent pot has gotten spread out. St. Cloud gets kids, Mankato gets kids and even Bemidji gets kids that Minnesota always had first shot at. And of course the elephant in the room is Duluth. Lot of talented kids in this state and some very good coaching also. My last point is with the Big $ conference there is no reason for a kid to stay home and play in Minnesota. Wisconsin, Ohio State and others are scooping in and getting kids. And then there is the developmental league & USHL also.

All true but I have to wonder if young athletes, in any sport, start out in Minnesota schools and use the transfer portal to up their opportunity or do athletes start out in out-of-state programs?
Pretty sure those statistics are out there somewhere.
