Me neither, Progressive here. My agent is an independent & they handle about 5 or 6 different brands.

Our parent had to be in the military and they must have had USAA for us to qualify Glenn.

This thread prompted me to read some reviews.  Like everything else - USAA reviews were all over the map.  Some guys had great experiences, some had nothing but trouble.  Some got the best rates with USAA, for others it wasn't worth switching, others left when their rates USAA rates went up.  It seems to be pretty common in the insurance buying game.

When I lived in Stillwater we had our insurance from a family ins agency in town.  I got a call from an Allstate salesman and he told me how aggressive he was in giving his customers good deals and beat our annual by some nice bucks.  Well a year later they jacked up our rates and I switched back to my original company.

but LPS  is saying that not only did they have served but they also had to have the USAA insurance in order for someone like me to be eligible.

That is what I saw.  ???  Can I join USAA if my father was a veteran but not a member?
If the military-serving parents held a USAA policy before they passed away, their children would be eligible for coverage. If they did not have a USAA policy, their children cannot be insured through USAA, despite their parents' military status.Apr 30, 2024
