I need some ideas. I've got a couple of plastic kerosene jugs that I accidentally put old #2 diesel in. They sat for a couple of years like that. They have dark blotches in them that didn't get any better when I sloshed some kerosene around in the jugs.
I want to clean them out to put fresh kerosen in. I have a couple of other blue jugs that I store fuel for my torpedo heaters that might have a mixture of kerosene and #2 diesel.
I thought I could put a pint of kerosene in the dirty jugs, throw in some rock salt and shake it up. Any other ideas?
I used to be cute and adorable. Then, I had my first birthday. Been downhill ever since.

I think your over thinking or worried about it.  A little bit of cross mix isn't going to hurt anything. It will all burn.   :coffee:

Do not use salt in your mix.
Varnish remover will take it right out, pour in a cup or two, shake it up good, let it sit, shake it around again, drain, flush it with diesel.

I think you're right. It's fuel for a heater, not a nuclear reactor. Old people. Thanks.

When we had our Herter's snowmobile we really learned how to fix. Especially those bogie springs.

And don't forget Herters! Pretty sure roony knows but it's a little known fact that Herters snowmobiles were built in the very building that houses Dotch's present office. A lot of guys very talented with a welder worked there.
