      Kind of makes me wonder. Just because this behavior has never been seen before doesn't mean it hasn't happened before.
      Also, it's California. Strange things happen there. It is interesting, though. Thanks for posting.

My old neighbor in Stillwater waited for a woodchuck to stick his head out from under his shed and killed it because he saw it eat the eggs out of a bird nest.  Then he ate it.  That was 30 years ago and he was 86 at the time.
