      Kind of makes me wonder. Just because this behavior has never been seen before doesn't mean it hasn't happened before.

My old neighbor in Stillwater waited for a woodchuck to stick his head out from under his shed and killed it because he saw it eat the eggs out of a bird nest.  Then he ate it.  That was 30 years ago and he was 86 at the time.

I saw him more than once standing quietly in his back yard with a pitch fork looking at the ground.   I said what are you doing Ed?  He was waiting for a vole or a gopher to move right under the ground so he could spear it.
