I bought an Aqua-Vu spool camera for $599.00 1 year and 2 months ago. The first winter it worked fine. I used it about 3 or 4 times. Then I brought it out this winter and used it the first time and I noticed it was flickering a little. I thought it was the battery or something. The next time I brought it out there was nothing. I called Aqua-Vu and they said I would have to send it in. So I did. They called back and said it was the camera. I told them I only used it 4 or  5 times and it was just over a year old. They said it only has a 1 year warranty. I said they must have screwed up when they put it together and she said they are made in China. I take very good care of everything I have so it wasn't abused. She said they couldn't do anything about it, because it was over a year. I was stupid and sent the warranty card in right away when I bought it. End of story, I will never buy anything from them again.  :taz:

Imagine how far that would of gone if they would of went the extra mile to help you out. Its really too bad. Here you would of been posting about how much you like Aqua View/Nature Vision and now everyone gets to read this. In the competitive market there is today they should really take care of their customers. Really.....what would it of costed them to fix or replace your camera..... :-\

I would be pretty upset!!

Customer service plays a huge roll in how I purchase. For instance strikematser. those guys will do anything for ya...it seems. Anyways, I am in the market for a new camera and with so many out there I haven't made up my mind. I've been looking at a few. Anyone else have any experience with Aqua View, good or bad??

Thanks in advance.

my dad has had his camera replaced about 3 times now i think.  and it still doesn't work all that great.  specially outside when it's cold.  I have a marcum and love it.  I wouldn't buy aquaview based off my dad's experience and the fact that mine works fine in the cold.

I've never owned an Aqua Vu, but i have used them in the past. Most of these companies use the same camera, so they are pretty much the same as far as viewing, clarity and reception.

The difference in all of them is the accessories or ad ons.... Aqua Vu only offers IR, Marcum offers both IR and Multicolor lights. Both Aqua Vu and Marcum cameras offer temp, depth and auto panning. It all depends what you want and how much your willing to spend, even the Atlantis and other not so popular Camera manufacturers have decent cameras because most use a sony camera.

The biggest difference to me is how well there customer service treats me if I have a problem.

Like I said, I have never dealt with Aqua Vu, so i can't comment, but I have witnessed Marcums customer service and have never heard a bad comment. If you have a problem, send it in and it will be fixed, more than likely you will have it back in time for your next fishing trip, i've heard a lot of testimonies on Marcum, they treat you with respect and fix your problem.

Hunter2.... I'll bet we can all help you get your Aqua Vu fixed up, thats terrible that there is no leeway on the one year warranty, let them know that you will be sure to let over 10,000 people know your story.

I have a Marcum VS400 and use this primarily for open water and had the VS560 for ice fishing but was short on $ so I sold it.  I wouldn't use ANYTHING but Marcum for cameras.

Hunter,,,I just wanted to say that I am in the same boat as you are except I am not going to send it in and pay them anymore money.

Im just not going to buy anything from them again,,,and tell people what a crap Co. they are.

I have better ways to spend my money then to give it to people like that

It's too bad that they couldn't take care of you on this HUNTER2. A little effort on their end could have gone a long way for them in your word of mouth advertising about their great customer service. Instead they have lost you as a customer as well as now the rest of us and I'm sure many of your friends and relatives have heard how poorly they support their  products and value their customers. I will be sure to share with any of my friends and family who are looking for a camera to NOT buy Aqua-Vu because of your experience.

DaveO, I couldn't stand looking at a 600 dollar camera sitting there not being able to use it. Now I might have a 700 dollar camera that works. How long is another question. If it quits again I think I will fill it with lead pellets. :bandana:
