Went to GM this past weekend to celebrate the 66th anniverary of Joynes Dept Store.. I am sure any of you that have been to GM have been to Joynes.. The founder, Howard Joynes, was there and looked very well.. He had a serious accident 2 years ago and has been semi retired until his health returns.. The weather was perfect, sunny and in the 50's.. Not many tourists in town but there were a few.. There is a real need for rain, everything appeared so dry in town.. Up the hill on the Gunflint wasn't much better, very little snow was left in the woods and it looked as dry as GM.. I hope this won't be the year of the "big one",, too many stores need a good season.. QG
