I also use the True Talker call along with my rattlin' bag.

If all else fails, I send a text message to one of my buddies and then the deer are sure to come by my stand while I'm staring at my phone... :ROTFLMAO:

A friend of my dads told me once, bring an apple with you, its lunch, its a very good mouth/breath de-odoriser, and after you're done with em, ya toss it from yer stand onto a deer trail, within site and there isnt a deer that wont at least stop and sniff an apple core sittin on the ground.... ;)                 -thunderpout 8)

When I started hunting back in the late 60's I was told by the patriarch of our hunting party that " you cannot eat the horns" and we were meat hunters. But that was back when the herd was much smaller than it is today and I felt lucky to see a Deer let alone be choosey. If I was to hunt again I believe I would be a little more selective.

Guess I'm a meat hunter first but once the yearling is in the freezer i get more selective.

Venison is the second best meal that there is.  Need I say more?

Duck is better!  Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

PS  The reason that I hunt is to spend quality time with my son and my friends.  If we get a duck/deer/grouse/pheasant/dove that is just a bonus.

If you are not a meat hunter  then you are not a deer hunter It is a shame to waste a resource and unfair to the herd and an individual animal to kill it for the Ivory alone. In my opinion those that will shoot a spiker over a doe to say they got their buck are losers also.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by thethings you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throwoff the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catchthe trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

  • Im into hunting, fishing, cooking, and my horse ..
HHmm I can list a ton..

Boat for open water fishing
Mobile for ice that floats and you can ice fish in it and convert it to a perm ice house when you want that slides out for the beds and warm bathroom in it
Hunting land on a great fsihing lake
a 4 door truck
a few dog care facilities with a huge outdoor area thats fenced in instead of just one.
go to Montana for a guide hunt for elk and big trophy deer
Go to Alaska for guided MOose hunts and guided fishing trips for Halibut and Salmon
Buy houses for all my family
Go to Austaralia for Hog hunts or anything
I think I can go on forever here but I think that comver the biggest ones..
If you say or react to something when frustrated or angry it will inevitably end in distaster !!
