I love to go to our cabin in Waskish (Upper Red Lake).  I enjoy getting away and it's very peaceful up there.  Plus, you can limit out on walleye real quick.  ::fishing::

When I was younger, my folks would take us up to Leech Lake a couple times a year. Some friends of ours owned a resort/campground up around Bena/Walker area. I remember spending all day out in the boat and then come back in and clean our daily catch, fry em up and sit around the fire all night til we feel asleep. Had to watch out for leaving stuff out though, as the bears would find it overnight and tear things up looking for food.

We take two weeks vacation each year.  The first week my husband and I and our three kids go up to my grandma's cabin for 10 days over the fourth of July, she is right on Rush Lake.  So it is a week of fishing, playing in the water, fish fry's etc.  It is a very enjoyable week for everyone.  The second week my husband and I take vacation is without the kids, we go up deer hunting in Garrison for 10 days.  Another great week of vacation, I couldn't really tell you which one I like better, I do know one thing for sure is that we look forward to both of them each year with great anticipation! ::fishing::

I would love to be able to spend a day "away from the track" with Dale Earnhardt if he were alive. Since his death, so many stories have come to light of all the great things he did to help out others in his community with one condition...that they not tell anybody where the help came from. He was a fierce, determined competitor on the track, but a selfless, caring, giving friend off the track. I would love to be able to just see that other side of Dale that most of us were not able to know about until after his death on Feb 18th, 2001.

Dale was also an avid outdoorsman so it would be fun to spend a day hunting whitetail with him in Iowa.

I would definetly take a day with my grandpa.(He's gone now) I would ask the questions I never did and just get to know a little more about him.  I miss him and I wish my girls and my husband could of met him.  LUVNLIFE

Sun Valley resort, Mill Lake in Alexandria. The owners are awesome, the lake is small enough to "know" but has a bunch of different structure. Most of all though is that I have just spent allot of great times with my family and friends there. The memories make it what it is for me!  ;D  ::fishing:;D

Bluff Valley Campground over by Zumbrota/Zumbro Falls along the Zumbro River. We used to have a seasonal lot there; just left the camper there all summer, built a deck out front, had a trailer shed in back for innertubes (for tubing down the river, and extra gear). We had alot of fun down there summer after summer.

???  ;D approximately 8 days a week ?  even if it,s just for 1/2 an hour as i could not live in a more accessable area to fish 3 rivers and 5 major lakes in a 15 minute ride.  ;)

Do you have a favorite fishing lure or tackle that was handed down to you by someone in your family or a friend that holds some special sentimental value to you? What is it and what makes it special to you? Is it because of the person who gave it or a fond memory of that person on an outing with them?

I have the same rod and reel that my Dad gave me for my 14th birthday; it was the last gift he ever gave me before he passed away.  I used that rod exclusivly until about 2 years ago (Im 41 now) when I decided I'd try a bait caster.  It doesn't get used any more and one day it will be displayed nicely but for now, its in the corner of my garage and the bottom of my heart.

When my grandfather passed I recived his Cherrywood rod. I love it! I used it for a few years when I first got it, but I know grandpa wouldn't want me to go without an upgrade! ;D.

My Dad has all of my Grandpa's fishing stuff right now, but I am looking forward to that being handed down to me and my son someday. Grandpa had a lot of the old Herter's lures and some other old spinner baits and things that I remember him using years ago with great success.
