  • The brothers with my 2006 buck.
My brother has a 14 foot aluminum boat that we want to convert to a hunting boat. Has anoyne done this? If you have any tips on what type of paint or any ideas to camo the boat let me know. I'll prly be working on it on sunday if the weather is good. Let me know if you have any ideas!!!

Say something like "what I have done in the past..." or "my brother-in-law painted his boat with..." or "try using one of those nifty little..." But instead of "..." say something really helpful and cool!  ;D

guythathunts, If you really want the paint to stick well to aluminum, you will need to prime it with an acid etching primer. Check with your local marine dealer for availability. Good luck! ;D DIRTBALL2 ;)

OK here's what my brother in law used to paint his old aluminum boat which held up great.

Valspar metal primer and then Valspar Marine paint which is oil based.  I don't know the differences in the primers so maybe just ask someone at a marina.
