I have had a place at Castaways for the past 15 yrs but we sold last fall and now have a place about 25 west of wigwam bay I use to fish off a dock at Rainbow Inn resort about 16- 20 yrs ago and did pretty good when I was a long lad. Wondering if anyone would give me some spots to fish on this side of the lake so I don't have to make the long travels. It is hard to try some thing new when we do so well on the N.east side but with gas what it is I'm looking for some other info. Thanks Ry

GOOD TIMES RYWHEAT!!!!  It was good to get get on fish pretty steady for the day.  Besides the shallow landing it was a great day.  I spent a lot of the day manning a disabled landing net, but all in all the "Celtic Pride"  had an awesome opener.  Thanks to Rywheat and another Champlin native known as Hammer for a great time!

Unfortunaly we forgot the camera at Rywheats place and had no way to document any of this.  Probably better off without the pics, Rywheat and myself had quite the red foreheads.  I also forgot to mention the after lunch double that occured with the Hammer and I.  One was 17.5 and I believe the other was 16.

Hi, i was out this weekend on mille lacs.  We went out of terry's resort.  They were catching quite a few of them in St. Albans Bay, in 11 to 13 ft of water.  Friends of ours were trolling rapalas there, like we were, but we were more over by pikes points.  Anyway they trolled rapalas for a while and caught some, but were all too big.  We were having the same problem, we only caught one in the slot.  Well, our friends switched from rapalas to lindy rigs, and as soon as they did that, they caught 25 walleyes with in the slot limits.  So that made a big difference, wish we would of known that while we were out there, but we didn't find that out until later.  Good luck to you.  Have fun fishing!  GirlGuide aka Renee
