It is great to get out and smell fresh air!

What is your favorite outdoor smell?

Some people like the smell of pine trees, others like the smell of fresh cut grass...What makes you say "Ah, smell that fresh air" when you inhale?

Please share.

I'm gonna have to echo guythathunts on all counts.  Also nothing smells better in the morning when you're out camping than a pot of coffee perculating, and bacon frying in the pan!

*Camping doesn't involve a camper or RV.  Camping is sleeping under the stars in a tent! * IMHO :taz:

Lilacs are very pleasant along with just about any flower but the smell of freshly tilled garden has a certain aroma too.

Has to be a crisp early morning after a fresh rain while out camping.  Step out of the tent and try to find some dry wood for the fire.

Sounds like I'm with the majority of you -- grilled food, lilacs, and fresh cut hay (as long as I'm not the one baling it or stacking it!)

??? sounds like it,s all been said already ? but what about just being able to wake up and able to take a deep breath of what ever mother nature has for us where ever we may be ?  i will settle for this aroma or foul.

After I read each repsonse I said to myself...me too! So all of the above!

Another smell I like is the outboard motor smell, and snomobiles as well......you know what i'm talking about right? Not exactly a fresh smell but a smell that reminds me of fishing and being outside.

I'm going to agree with all as I just plain like being outside. My favorite would have to be the smell of skunk or mink. I know that might sound weird but just reminds me of trappin is all.

Anyone lost their sense of smell? I lost mine for about 4 months one time and that was weird not smellin a good meal or a skunk as you drove by one on the highway. I definitely am glad I got it back but sniffer ain't 100%

I loose my sense of smell nearly every week!  It's mostly caused from all the fumes I breathe in daily at work (welding).  On long weekends it'll return about the 2nd or 3rd day.

Another smell I like is when there's a heavy fog-something about it gives off a "clean" smell.

I enjoy the smell of pine.  When I am in the woods hunting for deer, it is great to take a deep smell of that fresh pine forest.

It is not really a pleasant smell but I like the smell that arises from the bubbles that are stirred from the muck in the bottom of a duck slough when I wade out to set decoys in the pre dawn hour of a duck hunt. for some reason it adds to the anticipation for me.
