I get chills when I'm driving on a road in traffic and get stuck under a bridge, I feel the vibration from the cars above and have a weird scary feeling in my stomach.

Back in the early 1990's, I was in Minneapolis on Lake St, crossing the huge bridge where it turns into Marshall Ave in St. Paul, I was 3/4's across the bridge when it collapsed, probably a difference of 3-5 seconds and i would of been caught in the middle. Does anyone remember that day from the news?

I'm also scared of Spiders.   ;D

So, what scares you?

Nightsweats-nightmares, they sometimes seem more than real and I rarely get back to sleep afterwards.  They usually involve my kids, family or friends.

When traveling down the highway and on a side road from my right people clipping along and stopping at the sign real quick. It doesn't bother me from the left just the right. Prolly as bout 12 yrs ago someone pulled out in front of me from the right and I T-boned them. They had a couple kids with. Thankfully no body was hurt other than the little girl being nearly scared to death. Both vehicles were totaled.

Ghouley's and ghostie's and long legged beastie's and things that go "bump" in the night! :death2: >:D When you have reached the point in your life that I have(I'll be 70 in 2 months) there isn't much left that can scare you anymore. In fact, the closer I come to death, the less it scare's me. Don't get me wrong! I'm certainly in no hurry to check out! :hang: Offhand, I can think of only 3 or 4 things that scare me somewhat! Hilary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Edward Kennedy... ::50cal:: DIRTBALL2 ;)

In my job with FedEx, I drive 300 miles per day, 4 days per week. The one thing that scares me is that in my job something may happen to me on the road that would leave me either unable to take care of my family or not here with my family any longer.

Well I grew up in the country and spend a lot of my time there still now.. so I got quite used to if not fascinated with, snakes, mice, insects, bats and yadda yadda.  Never been afraid of the usual stuff, like heights, public speaking, small spaces, etc. etc.

But I do have a healthy fear of two things.  One, is evil.  There have been times where I have felt the presence of evil and became fearful.. and this may sound corny to some, but I prayed it away in God's name.  This has happened when I've been alone in the woods a couple times.  The second thing that... i dunno if scares me is the right word, but five years ago I collapsed from exhaustion (working a hundred hours a week and getting 4 hours of sleep a night for two months)  and wound up in the hospital for 5 days.  The first day there I had total walking amnesia... for about 12 hours...i didn't know my kids, my work, the president of the united states,  or even what year it was.  It took weeks to get my wits back. THAT was really scary... when  health issue takes control and all you can do... is ride the wave.

Dirtball2, I always enjoy reading your post...and reading this one you put up today reminds me of something my dad once said to me, which is "Im not afraid of dying...I just don't want to be around when it happens"!
Thought you might enjoy that one...GG   ;)

Spiders and hunters I don't know. I don't know why but when I see someone else in the field that I don't know I get a creepy feeling and am always on the look out for "suspicious activity". This is proly because of some of the more recent rampages that have happened in the woods and my being on the look out for a bad guy. It is never a feeling of aggression, but more one of safety. Still creeps me out when I am talking to a fellow hunter and that feeling of "something isn't right here" doesn't go away. One example of this is when I walked 3/4 miles to my stand on private land, and when I got there I found a pile of fresh beer cans below my stand, the smell of pot, and a guy and gal in my stand with loaded guns wondering "what f-ing right I had to ask them to leave". Scary to say the least.

Hey I saw that guys sister at a gas station in Cumberland Wisconsin yesterday.  I was just coming out of the rest room having changed from church clothes to cutoffs, and this gal is storming to her car yelling something about the "PRICE OF F-ING CIGARETTES IS SO HIGH, F-ING THIS AND F-ING THAT AND"..... you get the picture.  What a sweetheart.  I have an idea.  HELLO !  QUIT SMOKING !   I'm not a reformed smoker who gets on their soapbox either.  I used to smoke 3 packs a day, quit 25 years ago and I still want one.  But to rant and stomp and cuss in a place like that with kids and church ladies in dresses all over and stuff.  That broad was scary.

It makes this gal wonder... if this is how she was in public... can you imagine her home life.  RUN FORREST RUN !     :taz:

Well, I came walking up to my truck and my guy sort of whisked me away.  His teen boys were in his van.  We let the air go from blue to clear and then said our goodbyes.  I think if I had been there initially, or his kids had heard this gal, I know he would have confronted her.  He opted not to.  I think he thought she was scary too.  :-)

Good question...I work at a hospital and everyday I see people with trauma injuries, cancer, and god knows what else.  Not that I dawn on illnesses, but I'm prayin that I don't end up like them someday...Otherwise, I like a good thrill mixed with a bit of danger. :gunsmilie:
