Saturday 6/9 report. Fished with Dino Cordone (newly wed) and John Shmeclke (never wed), so you tell me, who was the smartest angler? Anyhow It's strange how patterns change from year to year. One of the hottest annual spring spots on the lake has been very slow this year. I noticed it change somewhat last year and more so this year.
That's what makes angling so interesting, You have to be willing to change strategies or you will die on the vine. Angling was still paying off today with some spots being hot and some not. We focused today on working a little deeper as many fish have started to move near the first break after spawning. 16 to 22 fow worked best for us while still darting in shallower for a quick check and back deeper again.

One of my guys was not catching as many fish and I asked what # test he had on and he said 8# so I recommended trying one of my rods with 6# and a fast tip with a fluorocarbon leader. This seemed to make the difference. Boat traffic was not to bad today, but I still hate fishing weekends. Lots of folks going to graduation parties is keeping the traffic down on the lake for now.

See ya on the water, Lee

If you ever wondered why fishing is probably the most popular sport in this country, watch that boy beside on the water and you will learn. If you are really perceptive you will. For he already knows that fishing is only one part fish.
