Do you need live bait to go fishing with?

If you are going fishing in the Metro area here are some places to purchase live bait for your trip. Call ahead to the bait shop to make sure they have the type of bait you are looking for. Not all bait shops carry all types of live bait.

please, if you can... support the little guy and get your bait at a small shop and not gander mountain or Sportsmans warehouse.

I usually get my bait at a local store in Walker where I do most of my fishing, but this time of year, the leeches tend to be not so great so I was wondering if anybody knew of any good places around the N. metro.  I would much rather spend the extra money and buy from a smaller guy than the big corporate monsters.

  this is the time that leeches breed out.  IT doesn't matter where  you purchase them . i have stopped carring them  my self  due to mortality rates . the same holds true about  minnows .  anyway  my two cents worth .

If I'm going to buy a bigger quantity of leeches - lb. or more - I usually go to Vado's on highway 65 in Spring Lake Park.

Yep, Vados is THE bait store....I buy my stuff there all the time, great guys and my shiners axctually last a day!!!!!                -thunderpout 8)

For the best Leeches in the state of Mn go to the bait shop on 35 @ the Harris, Mn exit. The have the best quality and quanities for the best price.
